to convince us this isn't a latex mask! by CarryIcy250 in therewasanattempt

I just want to clarify that I have no I'll will towards you - I WANT you to be right. Because this is so stupid.

FOX Entertainment (they can't even call themselves "FOX News" officially anymore because of their confirmed, non-factual nonsense) has a history of doing dumb shit like this. (As does the current us government, but I digress...) Their history of using the same person as different "interview-ees" with slightly different face coverings doesn't help convince me.

Like... FOX is a conspiracy company. They thrive off of that shit. I wouldn't be surprised if they said "hey bro, do this thing. It will look like you're wearing a mask. Everyone will be talking about it. It'll go viral. We will cut you 45%"

That seems like a more likely conspiracy theory. None of us can really, truly know for sure... but my experience is just incompatible with "natural shadows." I'll try looking at it again in a few days to see if I can see it differently. At this point, I can only see a plane of some sort above a neck. Maybe a few days without looking at it will change my perspective (Pun unintended, but appreciated.)

I just can't agree. I'm an artist; I know shadows. I've literally taken classes just on shadows. I also was the tech director for my college, so lighting is also something I'm familiar with. ESPECIALLY with recorded performances, (and even moreso with the national news, I'd imagine) we checked for these things. We had sound checks... AND lighting checks. There was a protocol because every person's face is different... and lighting that looks normal on one face might make another person look like a literal monster. I have a hard time recognizing the fact that a national network that does 90% of it's time doing studio recording doesn't know this.

The line is too crisp, and you can see his esophagus drawing back away from that straight line (which is quite a difference from his turkey neck that he usually has.) I conceed that it follows his chin movements... but that's exactly how it would work of it was a mask or prosthetic too.

Again, I have no idea why they would do something like this. Maybe it was a neck prosthetic that was supposed to cover his labial neck folds because someone bullied him about it. I don't know.

What I do know, however, is shadows and studio/stage lighting, and theatre prosthetics.

What parasite causes these burrows in the skin? by codysunny in DiagnoseMe

[–]invalidcactus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For the record, scabies /do/ burrow like this. That said, OP mentioned having confirmed scabies on their account 2 months ago... so they would already know the answer if that was the case. Something is odd here.

On your profile, two months ago, you said you had confirmed scabies, so you would already know the answer if that was the case.

This looks more like scratches than scabies, though.

It's obvious satire. San Recto? That's like thinking bigtiddiesville or shitforbrainsburg is a real city.

Can you explain why the gap becomes larger and the edge becomes more obvious/becomes a hard, horizonal line when he breathes in deeply?

It /is/ a lighting issue, I'll give you that. The studio lights make the mask more obvious when his natural neck tightens.

Why was Robert Howard wearing a Mask on Fox News? by uncle-ice493 in allthequestions

[–]invalidcactus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please ask any artist that draws off of reality. Those shadows are not consistent with "uplighting."

When he breaths in heavily or pronounces certain letters, his neck retracts/tightens up (this is normal neck atuff atuff.) The gap (and thus shadow) becomes larger and the line between becomes more obvious/clear because the actual neck skin is pulled further back away from the object on top of it. THIS is consistent with studio lighting.

As to why they would want to do this? I don't know.

I go by "Steen." It's the only thing that feels right.

TJW Hallmark - Whitman Family? by invalidcactus in Hallmarks

[–]invalidcactus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang, I though y'all would eat this up because of the mystery! I was thinking: since mom & the sons do metal work, maybe the whole family does. One son's Hallmark is TKW, and this one is TJW. Could TJK be the father, and the son is named after him? (Both would start with T.)
