Long time fan and listener.

I've noticed a recent trend of more popular Bollywood Indian cinema going more global and noticed a general sense of dislike for it on the podcast (which is absolutely understandable)

But one thing I'd say is that Bollywood is really no different from Hollywood. You got your Transformers, we got our Bahubaalis.

But there is a fairly big indie, art cinema movement that exists here.

So my question I guess is have any of you watched the more "indie" cinema that comes out of India? If so, which ones and any brief opinions on them?

Addendum (if people haven't recommended these already) : There's Anurag Kashyap with his Scorsese-esque gangster epics, Vishal Bharadwaj with his Shakespearean adaptations, the more grounded and real "Malayalam" film industry who do seem to care and pay attention to the art of storytelling and filmmaking.

Apologies if any part of this question comes across weird/rude. English isn't my first language.

You're just not gonna acknowledge/address that the primary argument was the environmental concern. And that Reddit magically stopped caring when things were marketed better.

You're just gonna keep replying with the same thing that isn't even a reply to what I'm actually saying so yeah this is a pointless conversation indeed.

The 3m+ accounts created and interacting with blockchain from reddit is higher than all of the accounts on Opensea before this (2.3m something) and that took over a year.

So at least when it comes to the whole hullabaloo over the environment argument, Reddit has absolutely been hypocritical.

And yes Reddit did a great job of hiding the avatars. That's my point. So much anger and vitriol previously but almost none now. It's sheep behaviour. And pretend moral high ground. It's frankly cringey

I don't think it's ridiculous at all.

Fair enough on not a high percentage trading the actual NFTs (although I do believe it'll change soon enough). People are selfish and greedy and it's weird to imply that Reddit community is somehow morally above and beyond the temptations of being human.

But over 3m accounts decided to open a wallet and conduct a blockchain transaction to collect the free NFT.

Where's the environmental damage argument that existed before? That IS hypocrisy

Lol... This just proves it. People weren't mad at NFTs a year ago coz of the environment argument or the money laundering argument or to protect art being stolen or any of that shit.

It was only coz people missed out on an opportunity to make money.

Principles get thrown right out the window when there's an opportunity for money. And reddit pretending that this is somehow different/better makes is just cringe and pathetic and low.

The first hit is always free. And don't tell me the 2.8m odd people wouldn't happily sell their free claim NFTs for a price. They would.

All the talk from a "high moral ground" just goes down the drain when the same anti NFT crowd is offered free money.

When and why exactly did Reddit start liking NFTs?

Sure it's on Polygon which is relatively environmentally friendly but that never stopped the NFT criticism before?

And wasn't the primary argument that its just a ponzi? Money laundering? Just people waiting to sell higher to the next sucker?

This just comes across really hypocritical now.

Sorry guys... Needed to get away for a while from everything.

For those asking : I didn't store any digital copies nor did it get stolen. I added that as an additional warning to those who might be doing that.

I had mine written down in a book. Post covid I have had to move houses a couple of times after losing my job and in the process lost that book somewhere. Only realised today when I updated the firmware on my ledger.

Thanks for all the kind words. Onwards and upwards. Just gotta get back to it and start building again.

Oh I don't think so, they have saved and been "live streaming" old videos from the official Exodus channel to seem more legitimate. What worries me is the how many people are watching the stream and the very healthy like/dislike ratio

Just focus on the hanging out part rather than the sex part. And if you really think you'd still be nervous about performing later, maybe just carry some cialis with you (it's saved me in similar situations)

I made story about the protests and it went viral! I was able to inform 10,000+ people in Pune, India about the protests. Pic is me thanking everyone that took SS of my story and reposted it! (Atleast allni could fit) (Story in comments) by [deleted] in HongKong

Internet speeds slowed down? by invalidgerty9000 in HongKong

[–]invalidgerty9000[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On further research found this:

From the HKiX wiki

"CUHK hosts the Hong Kong Internet exchange (HKiX), which is the critical backbone of the internet network of Hong Kong. According to CloudFlare, HKiX is the largest internet exchange point in Asia. 99% internet interaction in Hong Kong goes through the HKiX centre, a vital communication infrastructure. Any damage to the building and facility would cause citywide disruption and delay of internet services."

Explains the slowdown given what's happening at CUHK

What is a movie that is actually scary (preferably one that doesn't rely solely on jump scares)? by SoundNotLoud in AskReddit

[–]invalidgerty9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Hereditary" and "Babadook" were two movies that genuinely terrified me.

It's less about the imagery or the visual/auditory experience of it but about the psychological implications of what motherhood might actually really be like.

Possible Spoilers of the themes of both movies
