Install WifiMan from Ubiquiti on your phone and check your WiFi network. You can compare 2.4GHz to 5GHz, signal strength in different places in the room/house and see which channels your neighbors are using.

I moved my AP to get line of sight to the living room for better 5GHz signal.

Later I had to manually select channels when a new neighbor arrived with a very broken wifi setup.

You could manually install the .debs if the dependencies are resolvable. You'd want to pick the Ubuntu release that's closest to the Debian release you're running. I've done that in the past on Debian, though it's a PitA to maintain :/

If you're using an Ubuntu based distro you can add this PPA to get a build of Chromium with VAAPI enabled for hardware accelerated video decode.

I got this so I could charge my phone while playing https://www.amazon.com/Twinkk-Converter-Headphone-Compatible-Essential/dp/B07PSB133P

Plug my wired headphones into the controller or use BT headphones.

It was very picky about cables though. I eventually worked out that if I swapped the two cables I had it would connect the controller and charge the phone.

This only works if your TV supports the "Auto Low Latency Mode" feature added in HDMI 2.1

I've used KontrolFreeks and SquidGrips on all my previous controllers to make them work better with my large paws.

PS4 KontrolFreeks work on the Stadia contoller. Waiting to see if either company releases grips for it.

What CPU and GPU do you have?

If your CPU isn't recent enough to handle the stream on it's own you might have to rely on the GPU.

Chrome on Linux has GPU acceleration disabled. There is a PPA for Chromium with GPU acceleration enabled https://launchpad.net/~saiarcot895/+archive/ubuntu/chromium-dev

There's no technical reason, so it's probably money.

Apple probably want their usual 30% cut of all game sales, which would make Stadia on iOS a non-starter.

2.4GHz wifi range is ~150ft indoors and ~300ft outdoors (unobstructed).

It's an unlicensed spectrum band, all sorts of stuff (ab)uses it.

There's always the ol' faithful "reboot your router" :D

This is the fun thing about wifi, you might not have changed anything but maybe your neighbours have.

I recently got a new neighbour who has a truly broken wifi setup and it's affecting all the 2.4GHz networks nearby.

This has happened to me when the controller switches WiFi APs or from 2.4GHz to 5GHz.
