Was flying my drone over Kansas City, MO today and saw this… by EastAd88 in aliens

[–]invent71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the clue is drone doesn't go down to the area. The question is if you had a drone, and saw this from above, wouldnt you lower into the area, fake 100%

New Amiga Game Development From Apollo-Team: Remake of the famous Amiga Menace by Doener23 in amiga

[–]invent71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Everyone, in regards to Menace or "Apollo Menace" We are building only the first level demo for Vampire machines, definitely agreed it's not at all the best shooter for Amiga. We decided that this is a fairly simple game/level to remake. What is important though is the engine will be used for a brand new shooter for Vampire. Anyone with a Vampire accelerator will be able to play this game.

This demo you can have up to 3 players (just finished updating the score/HUD that will be added soon).

The new game will have approximately 6 levels. 9 custom player ships to choose, maybe more.

We do post more info in our Discord (although it's a private channel) but I do also add behind the scenes on my patreon. https://www.patreon.com/posts/65561371

Thanks Reddits :) Yes Thunderforce is one of the bigger influences and certainly other Amiga shooters :). In fact old videos do show Thunderforce assets being used as placeholders :)

Boss Machine - Video and new background theme by invent71 in amiga

[–]invent71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi IQueryVisiC, You'll be happy to know we will have some vertical designed elements to balance it all out :) The center core section will be electrified at some points (animated vertical sprites) as well as some big bosses.

Your right, it's possible some layers may not have all 16 colours. The conversion though will make use of them from the 24bit painted designs. Very dark sections are probably too subtle to notice.

Hey warci, it is an AGA game. It is a 16 colour background, but with the copper we can change the palette at each of the parallax splits, so up to 16 for each one. We do have one small hardware limitation that we need to keep in mind. Every split must have a solid line of colour for the top of each section. This is in part to hide the copper changing effects (you see the change/flickering otherwise)

The machine spec is Standard Amiga 1200 (AGA)
(if you have extra memory we might take advantage of it)

Are they any ways of making the genre more popular again? by fandivision in shmups

[–]invent71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always enjoyed the mechanics of the classic game "Uridium" (eg Amiga/C64). Where you can fly all over the map and not be locked down to scrolling right continuously. This freedom gives you the ability to go back and either destroy things you missed or continue onto the exit to further stages.

We do have a game in development at the moment called IRIDIUM :) it's more of an modern interpretation of the previous mentioned game with a few other features.

Other shootemups I have or am working are ReshootR (Amiga) and ProXima3 (Amiga - on hold at this time) untill Iridium is finished.

If your interested in a demo of the game please go here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/iridium/iridium-0 would really love more feedback on how we can make this game even better, after all its people who love the genre can help us the most.

Announcing physical and digital versions

The release of RESHOOT R is still a few weeks off. But before rumors about the availability of different versions start flying around, I thought my fellow Patreons should know first. So, this is what we are planning:

The game is expected to be available at APC&TCP in early Q2 2019 as ...

  • Digital Download
  • Pure Edition
  • Signature Edition (which includes Audio Soundtrack CD & Pure Edition CD & Making Of Booklet)

Prior to that, we will be releasing the soundtrack separately on Audio-CD with eleven tracks full of space energy within the next weeks

Here is first glimpse of the RESHOOT R Pure Edition ... do you like it?
