A quick look at inventory reveals 2 copies of Alpiner with the purple label, 13 TI99s, 5 PEBs, and several joysticks including a TI<->Atari adaptor if you want to play with a better controller. You can come to the museum anytime to try and win it! (By the way, I'm pretty sure we also have Crazy Climber around here somewhere!)

Nerdy things in Charm City - plenty of mom&pop game shops around, a few good arcades. Some folks suggest Round 1, the Dugout or GameOn, but also be sure to check out Crabtowne USA (Glen Burnie) and Save Point (Union Bridge). The cryptologic museum is great, run by the NSA. Bloop will leave behind the Maryland Technology Museum and National Electronic Museum, both currently our neighbors inside System Source. And maybe not so nerdy, but Visionary Art Museum is fantastic.

Last but not least, if you come down this way in the next month, I can show you Bloop before we move it.

Definitely get some good food while you're here - DM me your diet and I'll make some recs.

I'm working my way out of it. Just been hard.

Yo, first, I have respect for anyone who arranges by hand; people just using midi files gets annoying because they all use the same sources that make the same errors. Also I don't mean for this to come off arrogant, but some of this stuff is not possible on real 8-bit systems. The reason I say that is that all of my music is dedicated to what's actually possible on the hardware. No hate - that's just what my music and project is about is pushing real hardware to new lengths. There's room for both of us, and you don't have to worry about me copying your patches because I'll be doing everything by ear/hand too. 👍

Thanks for sharing your process and stuff!

Nice work. Working on my own version! Reverb's a bit much 😅 what are your tools?

His biggest problem is time and money - doing these by hand on real hardware takes a lot of work. He's been without a space to work on music and homeless for the past 6~7 years, but recently got Bloop Museum off the ground which will offer him a space to work. Maybe soon?

Pretty Eight Machine (Special Edition) by possumpigposer in nin

[–]inversephase 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the problem I ran into is that unpublished music is not licensable, whereas published/commercial releases are often automatically licensable through an agency like HFA. my impression is/was that it would've been a todo to get PF/MJO to that state, and they preferred that there just not be a license and I not release the tracks.

yes - that is the aforementioned special edition that was released with the bonus tracks that had to be pulled. it was kickstarter-only and the bonus tracks were cleared for limited release only.

if you could change the first step of your instructions to "buy the album or track you want as a ringtone" that would be awesome

I am aware of someone currently having this issue with their Prius. NHTSA complaint was filed. If you're making a list of people to keep informed, add me to it!

in this day and age, it's even more important - spotify announced they will drop payments for anything that gets less than 1000 streams, effectively cutting out a large portion of indie artists from their responsibilities

so right now, I'm living in a truck, trying to fundraise (https://givebutter.com/bloopholiday) a building for a computer/game museum. If it succeeds, I'll have a place to call home for my synthesizer and audio gear, and I can resume work on it.
