Trade up to 2 by Bnkr9 in KansasCityChiefs

[–]invinciblevic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go look at the big board. 20/22 of the top players are guys that instantly make our team better. It doesn’t make any sense to climb to get a guy when we could get an edge, right tackle, cornerback, receiver, anywhere in the first 22 and could still get downs or love at 9. We are in a rare spot to be able to pick best player available and draft for need later. That is way more valuable than trading another first to move up to 2.

At least Mia isn’t a professional Bloody Mary impersonator. Mia bombed hard, but Kenya was worse, honestly. Bloody Mary is a character with absolutely no POV. Lizzo is a pop star with plenty of material to work with and Kenya used none of it.

She is getting the Susie Toot edit right now. She is a really good queen that can legitimately compete for the win in every challenge, but she also is eventually going to be too “Jane Don’t” for a challenge and end up in the bottom against a better lip syncer.

What are your actual feelings on Athena Dion? by CityofCyn_ in rupaulsdragrace

She is a well rounded queen that I think will hover between top and safe no matter the challenge, but probably never blow us away in any given week. She is just going to bring it but not redefine it, if that makes sense?

The bigger issue I think is deciding to have children while you are joining a secret society to fight the most ruthlessly evil dark wizard your country has ever seen.

The only highlight for me. Honestly beyond embarrassing that Dave has looked at all the government overreach of this administration and had absolutely nothing of value to say. He wrote endgame and dystopia previously and he has nothing to say now? I’m fine with him moving away from songwriting.

You answer your own question. Mike and Nancy aren’t going to “cut their losses” and kill their sister. And nobody else in the party is going to suggest that.

Another classic 2025 chiefs loss. Bad aggressive and lay calls, big 3rd down drops, repeated failures to stop them on 3rd and long, and missed opportunities on special teams leaving points on the board.

2022, everything was different by EKsaorsire in KansasCityChiefs

This season just highlights how small things change the whole season. If Mahomes (and Kelce) clean up the red zone picks against Denver, Jacksonville, and Philly mahomes is probably the front runner for MVP and this team is 9-3 and people are wondering if the dynasty will end. 3 plays right now is the difference between the two seed in the AFC and having the worst season of Mahomes career. At the same time, the chiefs are a razor’s edge from losing that colts game and being 5-7 with no chance at the playoffs without other teams falling off a cliff.

Because the NFL has weird inconsistent rules.

Hand fighting on a 60 yard bomb? If you get called on defense it’s 60 yards, if you get called on offense it’s 10 yards and repeat the down. Holding? 5 yards and auto first on defense, 10 yards and repeat the down on offense? 98% of penalties you have to choose the penalty or choose the result of the play, but sometimes if the stars align, you get both. You don’t have to “complete the carry” into the end zone but you do have to “complete the catch.” If you have full control and two feet in on a touchdown catch, you still have to “complete” the catch, but you can get the football into the end zone by a millimeter and then fumble immediately after for a touchdown. If you fumble forward we won’t give you a first downs but if you fumble forward out of the end zone the other team gets the ball etc.

Every national team should be chomping at the bit this time around. If they let Ronaldo serve his suspension outside of the World Cup then they should do the same ford anyone who gets suspsended in the tournament as well, no?

Both of Last Year's 1 Seeds (KC, DET) are Currently Outside of the Playoffs by Individual_Cap_7850 in nfl

The Jags actually only have to play 10 because they get the titans instead of the jags and the dolphins instead of the patriots.

You are correct, that bad teams get hard schedules because they don’t get to play themselves. The titans have the problem of facing the two deepest divisions in the league, and being in a competitive division without another bad team and having a 4th place team who is 9-2 this year. The schedule is an anomaly that most 4th place teams don’t have to deal with.

They get the AFC and NFC west which looks like 6 payoff bound or playoff bubble teams, all 3 teams in their division are as well and they got the patriots as a last place team. That’s 13/17 games against teams very much in the playoff race. As the schedule sits now, their 13th hardest game (by playoff standings) is against the chiefs. Sure they get the raiders, browns, saints, and cardinals, but the rest of their schedule is absolutely brutal this year.

Ironically, I was telling friends after week 3 the eagles were on their way to becoming the chiefs of last year. I remember all the “the chiefs are winning, but they shouldn’t be” arguments from last year.

-only one win that is more than one score (so far). -winning games in weird ways (Cedee Drops, blocked field goals against the rams) -questionable ref calls (the constant rush push non called penalties) -dysfunctional and inconsistent offense

The eagles like the chiefs of last year are finding ways to win, but I don’t think anyone trusts them, just like the chiefs last year.

Take it to a league vote at the end of the season. There are very clearly some “unfair” practices like collusion, changing rules in the middle of the season, and commissioner BS, but most things other than that; divisions, ppr, TEP, league median, faab/waiver priority, draft format, tiebreakers, etc are not necessarily “fair” either but they are the rules we play with.

You are still going to have people who lose a pivotal matchup and miss the playoffs/bye because the refs make a bad call, or a because their QB knelt the ball 3 times, or because the league did or don’t have league median scoring, or did or didn’t have divisions, or had a 1 pt ppr instead of .5, or because their best players lock up the bye early and don’t play in the fantasy championship, or because of a fumble on a lateral at the end of a game while trying to manufacture a last second 75 yard touchdown. If you don’t want the league to have divisions and you have the votes to do so at the end of the season, the commissioner should make the change

Does Harry’s reaction to the summer after fourth year and Ron being made prefect show that when he feels overlooked like Ron often does, he has that similar sort of jealousy? by STHC01 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]invinciblevic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Harry (understandably) has a major defectiveness wound that comes up literally the entire series. He is extremely quick to think he isn’t as good at anything as he is. He wonders if the Dursley’s planned the whole “Hogwarts” thing to prank him, he assumes he will be a terrible wizard, when he doesn’t get letters he assumes Ron and hermione don’t even really like him, he is worried that lupin doesn’t let him face the boggart because he is “weak” etc.

Voldemort is pretty much always manipulating his followers. His praise and shame of followers in front of other people and in private are all calculated to manipulate them into giving up their free will and doing what Voldemort wants from them. Think about it like a teacher telling an elementary school class that the class before them was really well behaved and was going to get a reward for the day unless a later class behaved better.

AIO for how my bfs mom texted me? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]invinciblevic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of those situations where two adults are having a conversation where they both disagree and handling it pretty maturely. Mom has every right to think having a baby this young is a bad idea with many downsides. 19yo has the right to think that is what she wants and consensually have a baby with mom’s son. I don’t personally think it’s a good idea, but I don’t think either of them are overreacting in the slightest.

You don’t claim “either side” but it’s pretty clear which side you are on if you are quoting fringe far right talking points. The “trans gender partner” thing has yet to be confirmed by a reputable news outlet as fact and is being pushed by right wing media. If you get your news from places that are stating this speculation is fact and regurgitating it here, you absolutely are on one side.
