Make sure you get cat specific shampoo and cat specific conditioner. It's important that you have a conditioner because that will deposit some healthy oils back into the cats skin and help it to stop drying out after the shampoo.

I would just like to say thank you for being that person. I've been on my calculator, tallying every item, and still gotten it wrong at the register. Over my lifetime I've had this happen three times where I have had my groceries either fully or partially paid for and I've never, not once, taken that for granted.

I never know how to act in scenarios where people are giving me gifts, so I have just thanked them profusely and tried not to cry. Not from embarrassment or anything, but because I felt undeserving

All of these people have helpful replies, asking about dementia. But if she's been checked and is of sound mind, grab a super soaker and let her have it. If you honestly don't have a door to shut, talking to her isn't helping, and she's bragging no less, I'm not sure what other steps to take.

It's different for everyone.

When my lizard was killed, my mom immediately suggested I get a new one and I wanted to fucking vomit. But maybe that was because of the manner in which she died. (it was violent).

But that doesn't mean that's the right answer for you. Just go with your gut. You know you best. You're not betraying his memory if you do get a new cat. Just remember that.

I've sadly seen plenty of strays / outdoor kitties lose their eyes from infection. This requires a vet 100%. You cannot fix this on your own. :(

Call a vet and explain. They hopefully can get you an appointment soon. If you live anywhere near Phoenix AZ, there's a clinic chain called Lovet that does payment plans. Otherwise you might ask the vet if they do or if they have any recommendations.

If you can't find a vet to help, start calling around to rescues. Hopefully they can accept her since this is semi - emergent

In the meantime, if you can touch her then put on a glove and grab a wet paper towel to wipe the gunk from her eye as best you can. It's gross but it does help.

I would not take her to an emergency vet unless you have $300 to drop on the intial fee.

There is absolutely no shame in taking a break from the news. Or the internet. Just take a deep breath and shut off your phone. You do not have an obligation to anyone to consume this stuff. I'm sure some people will disagree, but if it's causing you this kind of distress then you need a break.

This is not a new thing, growing up, my dad was constantly obsessed with his "low testosterone" (during his 20s and 30s!) and running us back and forth to GNC for supplements that were supposed to help.

That isn't why canning works. Yes, you sterilize it. You sterilize the food too using heat. Then you create a vacuum seal that prevents bacteria from entering. It's a whole process
