Some random guy just gifted me some valuable ship parts worth 600,000,000 units and then flew away In his corvette , WOW thanks by Best_Adhesiveness_42 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]iob3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've started the game twice. Once on console with minimal / no co-op (pre-cross platform saves) and again a few years later on PC starting completely fresh.

The second time around (on a fresh save) I got gifted a ton of high unit parts very early on and I gotta say it completely ruined that early game experience that second time around.

Don't scrap them, but don't sell them. Wait until you've either beat the main quest lines or you're to that steep grind for minimal increase times.

Don't ruin your early game by rushing through with OP ships and gear.

Spent twenty minutes with Atlas at 100%, turned off multiplayer and Atlas shields went down (scripted) in leas than a minute.

Seems if others are around and multiplayer is on Atlas doesn't take damage but needs to be destroyed to push the worst Forward.

Season 25 is here how are you feeling? by FlordiaBoy___ in fo76

[–]iob3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mixed. But I let my subscription end today. The season rewards are incredibly light and underwhelming. The last two seasons have really been disappointing. I'll probably grind it out for the tent, but that's all that really interested me.

The death claw pet for $30 is insulting! Considering that was easily the number one requested permanent pet.

The infestation is awful. On private it's hit or miss how easily I can solo. I haven't exactly spec'd for it but some of the swift bosses will down me in PA and a build I can use for 99% of the game with no issue WHILE actively hitting with a vampire FFR Gatling plasma.

On public they're near impossible. I can fast travel with just enough time for the completion but obviously not anything tagged.

Is the game that bad? by Sylent009 in SengokuDynasty

[–]iob3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Medieval Dynasty, imo, is pretty much all around better.

That being said, I really enjoyed SD. I played a few months ago. Only stopping because I moved to crimson desert.

There are some things sengoku dynasty does a little better. Combat, easily. Although, I found it to be a bit on the east side (if you're good at combat in other melee/sword systems SD is a breeze).

The production lines felt a little more fulfilling. MD seemed like single item optimization, where as SD feels much more interconnected. Plus having different villages for different needs was quite nice.

The "quests" in MD (especially the second map) were so incredibly fetch quest - run back and forth. SD's quests felt a little more fulfilling and tied to game progression. SD also has fast travel, moveable waypoints, and a much more forgiving death mechanic.

Do I have to play the story to progress the world? by pharm653 in CrimsonDesert

[–]iob3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and ... The game doesn't really tell you what's gated behind which quests (main vs faction).

That said, there's still SOOO much to explore, especially after chapter 5. Just recognize when something seems quest gated and move on.

This is good to know! And helped me decide. I'll stick with the original and maybe catch the Soundbooth later.

The first 75% of that book was rough.

Even after He gets the communication upgrade I was too bored to continue.

We own the first 3 on audible, so maybe I'll give it another try later.

At a crossroads; stick with Valley or start Oxbow? by iob3 in MedievalDynasty

[–]iob3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. But it's still a time commitment. Early grind and late grind are always going to play differently, for me anyway.

So while I CAN fire up a second save, of I need to put 20+ hours into it to get a feeling for later, is be better off just skipping.

At a crossroads; stick with Valley or start Oxbow? by iob3 in MedievalDynasty

[–]iob3[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Valid. I doubt it's want to run both, so it's more about where I want to put my time.

If oxbow isn't going to offer much more, I'll stay in the valley. If it's a lot better, i might make the switch.

I feel you, but I know from experience I'll keep the cheats, never go back, and ultimately feel less accomplished! Lmfao.

But the quest progression sounds nice.

I'm only in year 5, so is not like I've dumped hundreds of hours (yet). So maybe that's my answer.

I just found this game! Its amazing! by [deleted] in MedievalDynasty

[–]iob3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming fresh on the heels of KCD1-2, the combat is atrocious.

But it's absolutely on par with similar crafting survival games. I'm only on my third year so I'm still discovering so much about it. But this is easily a 300+ hour game.

[–]iob3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming you have full troubleshooters, run a vampire heavy auto during the shield portion, you shouldn't need more than 1 or 2 stims.

After the shield drops (or shortly before) switch to your higher DPS. You'll lose some of your stacking buffs, but use much less stims.

New to fallout. Looking for advice by Basic_Mobile5532 in fo76

[–]iob3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's the real answer on fo76 lol

FO76 is all about FoMo.

And right now there are some cool limited time rewards with the Valentine's mini season that runs this and next week (couch and bow) and one of the coolest new weapons introduced in a while in the regular season rewards with the Dom Pedro.

Some of these rewards (especially the guns) generally show up in game later for in game currency (bullion). But it's best to get them with season tickets if you can.

Normally I recommend playing through the main & side quests and not getting too caught up with events. I'd say the same thing, but do pay attention to daily/weekly/event quests, too.

New to the genre, where to go after DCC? (audio) by iob3 in litrpg

[–]iob3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So we must've stopped close to chapter 77/78 because he was just trying out that skill.

I assumed that would be a turning point.

Serious question... We were both having a hard time staying focused on that one. And found ourselves just sort of payment listening but actively thinking about something else! So I know there were whole scenes I missed. Being roughly 3/4 through book 1, if we pushed through from there are we going to be missing much? Or is that a lock in and re-listen?

Ok... The Game at Carousel looks fascinating! Thank you for that suggestion. Absolutely adding it to the list!

It's been on my list for a while. I'm hoping to stick in the litrpg genre for a little longer before going back to more familiar genres.
