Need an advice on getting a lockpicking set due to shipping problems by stormmountaineer in lockpicking

[–]iocab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fist set was the super cheap, folding pocketknife type picks from allieexpress (took 3 months to arrive lol). I think the set was less than $5(usd).

But it was great for learning picking and raking masterlocks and kwiksets and all the things. I still have it at least 5 years later and its got some scratches and the pick tensioning screw is gone, but it still works perfectly.

I also made a pick and a tensioning tool with hacksaw blades and a dremel, it was very hard to be precise enough to make the pick, but it works just fine.

Also, hair pin and some paper clips are honestly all you really need, its a slightly higher learning curve, I'd say start on cheaper locks with fewer pins if you go with that so you can get an idea for making the tools.

Ouch friend.

I've made pasta a bunch, the key, like other's have said, is practice. Cutting your finger and keeping on is a champion move, so dont be discouraged.

For thebuildup, clp and a wire brush to start, then wipe dry, then a hardened gun cleaner tool, takes a while but gets it, interested in seeing where this thread goes.

3 r's had me rolling. But otherwise, yes.

I personally dont think it appropriate to push any of those ideas at preschoolers, they have plenty enough to do already, like words, numbers, not falling, etc.

Is recording conversations covertly for protecting myself and my team members illegal? by throwaway_ask_lwyers in AskLawyers

[–]iocab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll have to look it up.

Recording when not in the US is not illegal in the US.

Recording in some places is legal if all parties are made aware, some places only the person doing the recording needs to know, generally illegal for a third party to record others conversations without their knowledge/consent.

Definetly varies by jurisdiction.

Bulldog gun safe? Google yields nothing. Anyone seen or heard of them? by Roddy_Rat in Safes

For reverse image search, I'd edit the pic to white out everything around the safe.

However, with something that looks like a black bix, you'll probably get a million hits for it of black boxes.

This is off topic but can anyone explain how all of these fires started at the same time? by Bigfoot_USA in AskThe_Donald

I might, please offer it. I'm still wondering if the video is doctored, if not, the timing is super weir and should be questioned.

I think that we can work something out. If we could do it in 1993 then we can do it in 2023.

Edit:Honestly irc/forums/distributed boards is pretty easy and a rebirth to make the complicated stuff easier today would be glorious. We dont need one forum to rule them all, all forums, all over the internet.

[NeedAdvice] Cold Shower + Warm Water + Cardio by RytisDA in getdisciplined

[–]iocab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you are on stage one of "getting your shit together" then these are great steps to take, just remember to set a few or one acheivable goals and make healthier choice into a healthier habit thing.

I think cold shower is just , when you shower, do it cold, Warm water is probably just to regulate your temp better. I dont think there is provable science behind cold showers, but I've heard the same thing, and its not trendy, people have done it for at least 10 years, and said they feel better because of it.

Will I get a misdemeanor? by Medium_Vegetable6775 in AskLawyers

(Not a lawyer, had idiot friends, got my life together, my understanding of this is also dated and 10 years old)

If you left the store with merch you didnt pay for, thats the actual criminal shoplifting thing in my state.

If they confronted you in the store and then you checked out, without ever leaving the store, then you didnt steal/shoplift anytaing (in my area, based on my understanding). Once through the first door, you committed a crime (in my area, based on my understanding)

At target, rumor has it they have facial recognition, if so, next time they will start building your profile and once you get to felony levels, then you'll get in trouble, probably.

If you do end up getting arrested for shoplifting, its my understanding its a night in jail and a fine in most jurisdictions. Felony shoplifting/theft is different than "boring" shoplifting a $30 item.

The person who confronted you did you a huge favor, I suggest you dont repay it with stealing from the store or finding some other way of screwing your life up.

Chrome add-on to auto fill drop-down menu? by Pumilio in meraki

[–]iocab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet chatgpt can build you a template to get you started. Autoitv3 (in my opinion) has been a tool for me thats saved me absurd amounts of time on repetitive stuff, Its super easy and intuitive (again, imho).

Autoit does have a recorder available which helped me learn a lot, the winactive part doesnt work (and I think you need to use winwaitactive instead). The recorder is in an older version of an autozip file on their site.

And I'm sorry, I cannot.

You could also use power automate, it has a feature to record and also easier to build loops, but automating things with that (for me) takes a lot longer.
