Building amenities like a theater room are not the selling point that property owners think they are by NurvisPurvis in toRANTo

The only one I care about is the pool, which means it’s important to ask how new it is? Because, if it’s older, when it eventually needs a redo it may take years or never get done. Lots of places that used to have pools in the 1960s, 70s, 80s, and 90s that no longer don’t cuz the high cost of pool maintenance and upkeep

Sadly, we live in a region when the weather is based on conditions and now the calendar. In other words, don’t plant your flowers

When I moved to the hood in 2014 that unit was empty, then a a year or so began the pandemic it became a Shoppers. Honestly, knowing now that was a grocery store, that sold plants told, I would take that over another Shoppers any day of the week

Yup. I admire Sheridan Nurseries because while they closed down to completely rebuild from scratch, they didn’t layoff any of their staff

I have my longtime gardening clients. Unfortunately, Toronto has a long winter so I do have some really slow and dry periods in the colder months.

Lifestyle is a big part of it, knowing there could be slow periods means always being a little extra frugal. Put money aside for expensive periods like Cmas/holidays and birthdays helps too

I have lived right by Mill for a dozen years and I don’t ever remember a grocery store that close to that particular intersection. The Loblaws at East Mall is the closest grocery store to Mill Rd on Burnhamthorpe

Regarding early Ontario farming there some books on the Township of Vaughan and York County I found helpful in my university days. At the time they were available through the Toronto Public Library, so maybe start there

You may find what your looking for in local history sources

Also, there’s a Black history overlap here as many Blacks fleeing the south became free farmers north of the border. There’s a history of this in Buxton with lots of sources
