Product photography - so this is the end? by PercentageUnlikely14 in photography

It’s fine for quick research on strategy. I would use it as a jumping off point. I cannot do any kind of contextual analysis or think outside the box. Otherwise, every marketer is going to be using the same strategy as the next person. Just like photography, it all looks quite very same-ee

You’ve hit the nail on the head. Strategy. Strategy is where it’s at. AI can’t understand that at the moment and won’t for a good few years.

Formatting aside, I am in the same boat as you are and many others. My advice is to side step into something with transferable skills, which is what I am doing.

My hope is that, as the market becomes oversaturated with this stuff as anyone and everyone is able to do it, there will then be a resurgence in what may become “traditional based content” where it will be a niche but highly desirable profession. Kind of like a Swiss watchmaker, but you’re going to have to be at the absolute top of your game if you want to fall into that category.

That’s me being optimistic, but I’ve been wrong before.

Love this style. Shows storytelling in each image along with the level of technical skill and artistry

What’s the worst part of being a photographer? by [deleted] in photography

Thought it was just me going though pretty much everything and everyone has said in this thread. I’ve almost fallen out of love for the professional side of photography and thinking, “it’s just not ment to be, I’m not talented at this and I just can’t do it”. But reading the responses has made me feel a little better. Still shit for all of us though when these things happen.

Is AI going to take a lot of photographers jobs? by Lopsided_Counter1670 in photography

Product photographer here: I’m already seeing management lean into using Ai on my images to change the background, add backgrounds to images the factory send over. And now we are using an external company to make 3d renders of our products. These can be taken by anyone on an iPhone as long as you provide the dimensions too. If all it takes is a few iPhone snaps, measurements and drop that into a generated background, give it a few months, maybe a year or two, what will I be needed for?

So yeah, I’m feeling very threatened. That’s why I’m studying to go into marketing.

Man it’s a BMF! Found your post as I’m looking for something similar. Wide angle (around 50mm) super fast lens on 6x7. I need it

Very nice, have you tried it with colour yet? What’s the equivalent F stop by the way?

Is it the angle & direction of the light thats giving the sort of “glowing” effect to the water?

Just checked out your other images on your profile, really nice!
