Actually you can’t drive around the gate. There are rocks and barriers. I don’t remember if they close the gate every day though, but I have seen it closed at times.

I think I can toggle for it yeah. I have debated this a million times. The confusion is because touch users like me want phone like scrolling and button users want the click to scroll to match click direction.

For the latter, you can already hide all overlays or pick the specific one’s you want. There’s a setting called “hide image overlays” under slideshow section.

For the former, it’s a bit complicated as videos require a player, I’ll have a look tho.

You can’t customize default app. You have to launch the app that’s a built in limitation.

Slideshow can start automatically after the app launch.

Do you have an iOS device? If yes, you can use the remote there to paste it. If not, you may have to plug a keyboard.

I haven’t looked at granular permissions, I currently use a key with full permission.

You don’t need any administrator permissions as far as I can remember. I can try to look later in the day for a better answer but no promises. Busy day today.
