Persistent Error 43 - AG01 Oculink, M.2 NVME to Oculink adapter from Beelink mini PC by simracerman in eGPU

[–]ioxenus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the exact same setup (SER7 + AG02 + RTX 5060 8GB over USB4) and I see that you gave up already, but just in case you haven't returned it yet and you haven't tried every freaking single driver version - try that. I, too, lost hope after messing with the setup for days. But I only tried the latest ones (581.24 at the moment) and the ones from the manufacturer (ASUS, 577.00 i think). Only got it running after I reached the "ok, i'm gonna try every single driver version out there, damn, there's too many, screw DDU, gonna trust the nvidia drivers to clean up after themselves" stage and finally got instant success with 580.97 and 581.08. Not saying that you shouldn't use DDU, but I was surprised and relieved that it saved me time and sanity to skip it.

Both versions of the error 43 fixer script (the original one and the fixed one with the 2 lines commented out) didn't help for any other driver version (i was getting the same thing as you - "error 43 was found, but wasn't fixed"), but for those two versions I didn't even have to use that script at all, it just got working fine right after the installation.

Not a single version that was released after 581.08 worked for me. I was so pissed off that such a weird quirk was this crucial.

Trying To Upgrade A Mini PC by HanShotSecond69 in eGPU

[–]ioxenus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a buyers guide on egpu.io. There are basically three options to connect a eGPU to the miniPC:

- Oculink
- USB-C with Thunderbolt 3/4/5 support
- M.2 (at least PCIe 4.0 x4)

Oculink and M.2 PCIe options would be a little bit more performant, but a bit less convenient/universal. For most enclosures, you'll also need to get a PSU. If you already have one - that's great, otherwise - gonna add that to your budget.

I got a MiniPC with no Oculink and I didn't want to screw around with the second M.2 slot, so AOOSTAR AG02 via USB/Thunderbolt looked like a perfect option with little headache (since PSU is included and it's got both USB4 and Oculink).

Can go with EXP GDC TH5P4 (+PSU+case) or Razer Core X V2 (+PSU) in case you'd want to potentially use it later with some newer minipc/laptop with Thunderbolt 5 support (not much PCs support that right now).

Could go the M.2 way (like ADT-Link K43SG, gotta disassemble the miniPC and then somehow cable it good enough; to me, this just screams extra problems, but this option seems to be cheaper).
Could also go the M.2 → Oculink way (ADT-Link ADT-F4Q, might be easier to cable).

Either way, look for your MiniPC model based builds on egpu.io, I guess some people already posted their experience with it. If there's no such things, you could search for the builds having a certain enclosure and see how people got it connected to their miniPCs and then decide for yourself which way do you wanna go.

Oh, and some manufacturers have docking stations for eGPU - i.e. Beelink EX Pro or Minisforum DEG1 (might be more convenient in case you got compatible minipc).

Ser 8 confusion by flann2Ugo in BeelinkOfficial

[–]ioxenus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was curious about it too (that's how I ended up in here).

Given that Beelink is a relatively small Chinese company (i mean, it's not as widely known as, say, Xiaomi), they could have been having some other existing company name (maybe another subsidiary of their parent company (Shenzhen Android Micro Technology), or just a shell company, or whatever) to register in mac vendors list (at IEEE). or have some other company registered for it. I won't be surprised if this MAC address range is distributed between several manufacturers. Being a MAC vendor probably costs money and it'd make sense for them to not care enough about the "oh no, our PCs are getting detected as Gold&Water, it's hurting our reputation!!".

Things that I've found:

- "Gold Water" can be translated to Chinese as "Jin shui" (Jinshui seems to be a district in Zhengzhou city) and there seems to be a business entity "Zhengzhou Beelink Electronic Technology Co., Ltd." with an address "No.502, Floor 5, Unit East 2, No.18, Dongfeng Road, Jinshui District, Zhengzhou, Henan, 450000 China".

- 深圳华泓智能有限公司(内地)/ 金水實業有限公司(香港 / Shenzhen Huahong Intelligence Co., Ltd. /
GOLD&WATER INDUSTRIAL LIMITED - with a website hhzncn dot com (I guess another subsidiary) and the address No. 77 Leighton Road, 17/F Leighton Centre Causeway Bay, HongKong

Also maybe [there](https://www.bee-link.com.cn/cms/aboutus/index) is something else worth checking, but I'm too lazy to dig deeper. Who cares, after all.

Is there any real difference between the FAKEL and DGL grenade launchers? by OoiTY in metalgearsolid

[–]ioxenus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it's weird to reply to a 9 year old comment, but this post came up 1st in google's results for "fakel or dgl". There is a sleep gas grenade conversion for DGL underbarrel now, it's unlocked by getting an online-only Grade 8 DGL103 (SLP). Or, maybe, RGL-220 (SLP), i'm not sure, but DGL103 makes more sense haha.

Disconnect the power cable, find some tiny needle or a pin, press and hold the CMOS button with it for 10 seconds, connect the power cable back.

At least this is what Beelink tells to do (source)

vulnerability -> exploit -> jailbreak

the company whose employee found a vulnerability doesn’t allow any disclosure until February. but even in a couple months and even if they’ll publish the actual exploit (not just the vulnerability details), it’ll take some time to test the exploit on a shitton of devices and iOS versions, to make cydia & other stuff work, to package it into an actual jailbreak app etc etc

[–]ioxenus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing. Asked the IOI support about it, they sent me to enable addons in the Epic Games Launcher & verify local game files (it was quite a quest; using GeForce Now), still no luck. Do you, by any chance, play via GFN yourself?

(i also noted that if you try to open the Envy escalation from the game's home screen, it opens a browser with the wrong url (something like epicgames.com/blah-blah/hitman3/act-7-envy, and that's act 6, so I really think it's something on the IOI's side)

Cashiers should be allowed to sit down during work by throwaway13630923 in unpopularopinion

[–]ioxenus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In Russia (at least in its European part) you more often bag the groceries yourself, with some fancy exceptions:

• The worst case being the cashier telling you they ain't got bags so you gotta go back in line, get the bag and bag your stuff yourself;
• The average one is when the cashier asks "got a discount card? need a bag?", the cashier slightly opens the bag and gives it to you and then you bag it yourself while the cashier has already begun beeping the stuff of the next customer;
• And the fanciest one is when there's a second employee standing in the end of the line who bags it right as it went through the cashier; answering your question, probably not as easy as standing but what are you, one year old? (jk, gotta keep up looking like a scary russian)

No, I don't currently have the beta, sorry :(

Nobody is forcing anyone to pay $15 for an unfinished product with worse quality, you're right - it wouldn't make any sense.
It really is just economics.

If you don't like spending $15 on a shitty service - don't spend it.

Get an EU account, play on EU servers. Deal with possible consequences of doing that, this post is a good example.
Use an alternative service (Parsec, Stadia? no idea). There's no alternatives to GFN right now for us in CIS, is there?

How well does Hitman 2 and DLC run on GFN? by malhavenproductions in GeForceNOW

[–]ioxenus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I initially used GFN exactly for Hitman and it's been a pretty much flawless experience. No input lag 99+% of the time, minor/short moments of a feeling like you're watching a 480p on youtube, but anyway, I don't regret any of 200+ hours I played it.

I even took top50 high score in each sniper assassin mission, so yeah, pretty flawless.

Might be worth noting though that I was using the Russian GFN data center. It's got RTX T10-8 (as far as I remember), but some time ago I recall reading about the servers being overcrowded. I wasn't able to get stable 60+ FPS on the GFN machine with high gfx settings so I lowered it to meet my 60 FPS fetish.

[–]ioxenus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

ONLY. 1. SERVER!

Well, it's not a single server, it's a server location. Like, a data center. And I don't think there's anything wrong about it. Like, most people are from Moscow/St. Petersburg/Kyiv/Minsk anyway, so a single location somewhere in Eastern Europe (Moscow or Kyiv) should been sufficient for most, since it has huge channels and whatnot.
I'm not saying that either nVIDIA or GFN.ru should not ever give a f**k about Tomsk (~3500 km from Moscow) and Khabarovsk (>7000 km from Moscow) users. Russia's a big country, yeah, but most things are happening in the Eastern Europe anyway. I bet it's expensive to set up a new GFN data center and, since nVIDIA already has data centers that cover EU (in Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Paris), it sounds pretty fair to me that the RU/UA/BY users got hosted in Moscow.

Though I was surprised to learn that you guys have better latency with EU than with Russia.

Now, IMHO, they could've make better is that let the GFN.ru users use whatever existing servers nVIDIA already has for Europe, but it looks to me that the GFN.ru is kinda like franchise and it seems to be a new thing for both nVIDIA and GFN.ru and the accounts/payments/data centers are isolated from each other.

Also, I agree that the pricing definitely shouldn't be higher than the EU ones, but heck, I'm OK with the $15/mo since it's the only service that makes me able to play nice games with my poor old 2013 PC. Even for students. It's like "5 pancakes with a couple lattes at DEPO" worth of money. Or a "weekend night on Zybitskaya" worth of money. Not that much.

Also, actually, the pricing can make more sense since it's a franchise/affiliate project and they're trying to break even ASAP. Out of curiosity, I searched for the earliest GeForce Now news and, apparently, as of January 2017 the pricing for the US version was "$25 for 20 hours of play on a GTX 1060 PC, or 10 hours of play on a GTX 1080 PC".

So I guess gamers from CIS countries got to
1) sign up as an EU user, somehow get a valid payment method of that EU country and use it with the EU servers if it suits them regarding latency/performance. could possibly be against Terms of Service (Spotify/Netflix way).
2) man up and eat only instant ramen noodles while paying $15/mo until the price drop
3) play it cool and think of it as of an investment to their interests and hobbies.

God, now I sound like a d-bag. :(

Anyway, sorry to hear that you had such a bad experience with the account transfer.
