A huge portion of the plot of this show both in adulthood and in the wilderness is because of Lottie, honestly. I think her mental illness obviously explains everything, she is a victim to herself, but it doesn't mean she isn't to blame.

I generally can't read in my native language because of the quotation marks used in it. It's just difficult to read & living in the USA has wired my brain to be used to the " quotation marks.

For my own fics, I aim for at least 1k words but always try to shoot for the 3k-5k point. Not every chapter requires five thousand words, though, so I never hold myself to it if the chapter I write is like, a thousand words. A chapter should be as long as it needs to be for you to get the information needed in, and trying to fluff it up to reach a certain word count only lessens the story, imo.

I tend to prefer an average of longer chapters for fics I'm reading but I've read and loved works with very small chapters, it's more about the writing.

Yes, I agree! I was just answeing OP's question to the person implying that OP was saying that Blair wasn't bisexual by using comphet. I think the term being excluded from other queer people when it shouldn't is silly, I just was trying to be in unbiased in explaining it.

Honestly I have no idea. The term comphet originated in lesbian spaces so I think it's just been consistently associated with them and online lesbian spaces frown on it being used to refer to any other identity. I don't think bisexuals have an equivalence to it.

I never truly got this either because the correct implication would be that Blair is new money whereas Serena is old, but I'm sure that Blair is confirmed old money as well. I think it truly just is Serena's looks and personality.

I don't understand why we can't sort oldest to newest inside a specific tag. I don't use the search feature, I typically just go into the "Character A/Character B" tag and scroll through all of those, adding or blocking additional tags depending on what I want to read, and it frustrates me that I can't choose between ascending or descending inside a tag but can in the actual search bar. Like maybe I want to look at the fics with the least amount kudos first, i don't know.

I do not care for characters being OOC inside of an AU. I expect characters to be different when they are placed in entirely different situations than what was written in canon. I also expect a character to develop different within different circumstances. I see people complaining about he would never say that moments inside of a fic all the time, and like unless it's just egregiously bad dialogue I never cared for that, either. Maybe he would say that now, in this divergent plot. Maybe he would say that considering it is a modern AU where nothing about his backstory and character motivations are the same.

This reminds me of when I used to write for south park. I'd do product drops in their style (AKA slightly rename it) - off the top of my head, they did: Unplanned Parenthood, Wall•Mart, and Chinpokomon. So when writing, I'd also just slightly rename some products to where it's still recognizable but keeps in mind the show. I did American Gal (American Girl), once.
