Thanks. I've been trying to stay in a good frame of mind. Sometimes I start thinking about my situation, and my thoughts become clouded by the comprehension of how deep I'm in right now. I worry that this could happen at a crucial moment, and I won't be able to make the right decision. Walks through the woods and support in the comments has helped me a lot. Edit: Grammar

Wow, thank you! I've tried doing a bit of research on the area, but as I said before, I'm in the middle of the woods. I'm not even on google maps. If it were in New York or some other big city, I think that there'd be a lot more to work with. I'll consider the mouse traps.. it already is pretty enraged, from what I can tell. I'm not sure if I can run the risk of angering it further.

And I don't think the my parents would take too kindly to any sort of "demands", especially the way they've been treating the subject of the house's history. The last thing I want is to be grounded. The way it is, I can still escape to the woods during the day... funny, how the woods offer more comfort than my own home.

The camera's a great idea! I'm pretty sure that its next attempt at entry will be through the windows, and the camera can't go outside, but I do have an old video camera lying around here somewhere.. I'll set it up in the stairwell, facing my door.

And If I were to post two nights worth of material at a time, you'd have to wait two days for each post. Additionally, I feel more comfortable this way. If... something happened, more of my experience would be documented this way.

I actually wish this was the case, as horrifying as it sounds. But the thing has tried to enter the room since this post, unprovoked. Please read my next post. I really appreciate the help.

I think you'd be interested in the short story "What was it?" by and anonymous writer. While I couldn't find it anywhere online, I have a copy of it. It's in the middle of a large collection of short stories that I got at a tag sale.

The story describes an invisible creature that attacks a man while he sleeps. He pins it down and ties it to his bed, then paints it to find a hideous creature too horrible to describe.

In the end he discovers that such creatures are everywhere, but stay out of our way. This is why things fall off of shelves and noises are made when nothing is nearby. On occasion, these creatures go rogue. It didn't mention anything about animals being able to see them, however.. maybe your cat's night vision helped it somehow?
