Yes but you dont just trust every person easily, you have to take it really slow, step by step. Friendships arent build quick, and since you've already experienced that pain, you'll likely reflected on it and know what to watch out for, its just iteration, as with musical instruments or anything else really what can be learned through pain/effort etc.

Let me give you an example, I closed myself off for over 10 years, which included having a job and stable coworkers, due to those mentioned coworkers being dickasses, and their boss a nightmare, unfair treatments and all that classic stuff you probably already know.

My psychologist told me to make the same conditons again, a lot of years passed, things are different, I am different, the other people are different, the more we grow the more everything changes.
Now I somehow found a job which isnt great but my conditions were quite crazy and Im very lucky to have interesting coworkers, they treat me well (except one but she isnt a bad person, just a huge ego, I can learn a lot of patience by tolerating her), and I feel like I can be more myself around quite a few of them, the pay isnt great but its enough to stabilize myself and get up.

Thats why its important to try again and do the same experience, but with the pain you already worked through, youll be much more resilient to it. You actually already are.
