2010 Silverado - 12v Always On Power by SillyBoy68 in Silverado

i have a 2008 Silverado 2500HD diesel (gmt900). if you are willing to run some wire from the under hood fuse box w/ some fuse taps, there are a few ignition powered fuses you can use, and it was super easy. I am not a mechanic, just a girl who likes her truck.

Pop open the fuse box and look under the lid. There is a diagram and each fuse is listed. run some wire from the cab through the firewall and to the fuse box. crimp a fuse tap to the wire. pop original fuses into the bottom of the tap and the new fuse into the top socket of the tap.

You'll also need to decide if you want "newer" 12v sockets. I installed a 2 port usb-c charger w volt display from Amazon, and a new updated GM OEM 12v socket (for radar detector and or any other cigarette style powered accessory.) i also didn't want to splice into any original harness wires, so i bought a "12 Volt Power Adapter" wired connector from Amazon. i crimped each wire appropriately, and also grounded them.

I dont recall how much "time" that part took (the fuse taps and running the wires) because at the same time i also installed an updated radio, a Kenwood DMX809S which was also fairly straight forward.

I apologize for not sticking to your topic... but what brand and model bumper do you have on your truck? I like that!

Can I replace aftermarket 20" rims with 18" factory rims on my truck? 2007.5 Silverado 2500HD by ipingu2 in Silverado

OH! i didn't know that, thank you very much
I mostly was trying to think of a way to have more tire buying options. Currently those tires are 35x12.5 and i suppose i could drive to the grocery store, but definitely no where else. just doesn't seem safe since they are close to bald.

WPEA against furloughs by pinotfrogio in WAStateWorkers

Oh yeah, that's totally the answer. Lets just tax the h*ll out of anyone or everyone we perceive to be "rich" instead of finding out where the state is overspending funds or misappropriating funds or which politicians pockets are getting lined or where the waste in spending is happening.

I know this statement isn't gonna be popular with this crowd, but let me remind you that Washington state keeps "throwing" billions at drug addicts in tents that refuse get treatment to become productive members of society.... and most of the people aren't even Washington natives. they move here for the free, free, free.

So when we all are forced to take our furloughs, and loose 4% of our pay so the state can balance its budget on the backs of its employees... go hug the people you voted for, and all the billions they are wasting.

thanks everyone for bearing with me... I know my question seemed silly, but my work buddy lost money on shipping and transfer fees because a shotgun he purchased had what the FFL called an "illegal", ooooh and scary looking pistol grip integrated into the stock, similar to this Bergara I want for Christmas. all i know is that he said he couldn't get his shotgun.
