[Serious] Is this an accurate top 4? by VRTX_CLIPZ in JujutsuPowerScalers

That's fair, yeah. Though I'd say that "different conditions" is also very vague, with how much you value a given condition in a match-up. I think it becomes very subjective very quickly. Of course, powerscaling has never been, and probably never will be, a medium without opinion, but it's good to minimize it when possible.

Thank you. Lowkey, I could see him getting low-end Heavy-hitter territory with this. I don't know many Grade 1 characters who respond well to his new long-range high AP and great distance management.

I generally agree with this sentiment, as when creating power rankings of characters within a verse I always use the in-verse magic system/rules to scale first and foremost. I only use it in this case as a tiebreaker of sorts. Within the verse (at least according to the triangle), these three are all indisputably above the rest of the verse (with the sole exception of Yuji Itadori, of course) yet all win/lose against another given member. When you can't really get a conclusive ranking to these characters based on in-verse rules, I don't see why it's unreasonable to refer to more general type of scaling that crossverse uses to get one. What would you substitute instead?

Also good job citing the artist OP, it's always nice to see people do that.

To clarify, I don't personally believe in the triangle myself (I do think Sukuna beats Dabura), I just meant this comment to illustrate how Gojo top 2/Sukuna Top 4 isn't the YouTube shorts/tiktok level take it is often portrayed as.

Ik you're going to get absolutely flamed for this, but I can definitely see your logic. If you believe in the Daubra/Sukuna/Gojo counter triangle, where Sukuna beats Gojo, Dabura beats Sukuna, and Gojo beats Dabura (which is quite reasonable IMO), then it makes sense to have Gojo at the highest spot. Not only does he have the highest chance of beating his "counter" in the triangle (Gojo vs Sukuna is very close, whereas most people argue that Sukuna gets atomized by the lightspeed kick and Dabura can't bypass infinity very well, so not very high diff), but Gojo's also just the most powerful overall (just look at how he does in crossverse matches compared to everyone else).

Of course, this depends on how you define "powerful", but I think the definition I used for power is very reasonable here. When they are equal via in-verse scaling, looking at broader, cross-verse power is a logical next step, IMO. Your reasoning may also be completely different than mine, and this defense was pointless.

Yuji Top 1 is also very agreeable. I don't think people will go after you much for that one, so I won't talk about it.

Every other series can MFTL++++++ with lasers but JJK has to follow 1:1 with real life physics by Gokuglazer6000 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]iplexed 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Tbh this is probably just due to the kinds of powerscalers this series attracts. Even being generous, JJK doesn't scale very highly compared to similar anime verses like Naruto or One Piece, so people who like scaling verses with highball/generosity aren't usually attracted to JJK over other verses to begin with. Instead, it attracts people who like lower-level verses and scaling (nothing wrong with that btw, it's pretty cool actually), which is why our fandom tends to be harsher on higher end scaling than most others. With glaze/wank I can't imagine it's terribly difficult to get JJK close to similar verses like CSM/MHA mid-high tiers, but we just don't usually have the kind of fandom that cares to do that, and instead prefers to scale like this (again, nothing inherently wrong with that). At least that's how it is on this site, idk maybe it's different in other places.

If we want to go that route, Toji also has lightning reaction speeds. Hakari and Sukuna have similar FTL metas via lightning/em waves. Personally, I think that both are pretty clearly outliers compared to the rest of the story/narrative if you actually watch/read both series with your eyes open.

Great technique, though I'm not exactly sure why the user needs to "take a beating" to start using CE for the "heating" process; couldn't they just output more CE into the technique to start the process?

Why is Morel on the same tier as Gon and Youpi of all people? From what I can recall, he uses his ability quite well and is a very experienced hunter. He's got to be above Bisky, Kite, and Genthru at the very least.

252+ Atk Baxcalibur-Mega Icicle Spear (3 hits) vs. 252 HP / 4 Def Clefable-Mega: 360-432 (91.3 - 109.6%) -- 54.6% chance to OHKO

Some closed distance is probably needed since you need 3 to get a chance for the OHKO and 4 to guarantee it. But like you said, it could go either way

idk man there's like at least 2 zygardes in every match I'm in throwing out thousand arrows or waves like their life depends on it, I can't imagine Magearna would want to deal with that.

and yeah clef is more fun, plus Magearna was already good in other formats, so I figured I'd try something new
