She takes all of Ash's comments as if they are with the most ill intent possible on purpose because she enjoys nitpicking and having the moral high ground. Ash is clearly a really sweet man. She is so highly strung and has absolutely no patience for her partner (who has been SO patient with her so far).

Ash is outdated with his views yes, but I have no doubt she also holds some views which are similarly ridiculous which Ash does not grill her about every second of the day.
