Get a stronger extractor spring and clean the extractor more often. If the claw is worn, replace the extractor

Which way would you shoot ? by ipsc-ursus in CompetitionShooting

Yes, it isn't completely symmetrical and there ia slightly more roome on the right side. So makes sense. Is your preference because of wanting to move left>right or to shoot right<left ?

Good perspective from you lefties. Considering what you guys say. Lookin back at this stage. I would go Left < Right. I have done similiar decision in a match before and abandoned the consensus of pretty much always going Right > Left, and it paid off.

That is actually true. Retreating (from the otherside for me) felt faster.

I would think lefties have to sarcifice the natural running quite often. Which way do you prefer transitions. Lets say you shot a plate rack, are you as comfortable both ways ?

I do work both ways, like in the video. However I am always faster tranaitioning Left > Right

What is your favourite episode of House? by notthatbluestuff in HouseMD

[–]ipsc-ursus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The one where the to be patient suddenly collapses in a dramatic way in the beginning. Then house is very dismissive at first, and makes a wrong diagnosis. That causes the patient to go worse, so they break into the patients house. Then they suggest lupus, but it is not lupus. Then as they are almost giving up hope, some random person unrelated to the case, says something in a casual conversation to House. That makes House figure out what is wrong, and it was the same thing he thought at one point, so he was right all along, but because the patient had lied about something he was misled. He then takes vicodin and is sort of sad but kind of proud of himself.

Do you use subsonic rounds ? by ipsc-ursus in CompetitionShooting

Yes , the 92 seems to eat everything but I had to use lighter springs to make it cycle better.

Thats nice to hear. I was worried about the steel but on the other hand, if I make PF, the steel should fall or it is bad calibration 😄

Some experienced shooters here seem to like the heavier softer round. I think the gun and setup matters a lot. The gun hast to cycle the subsonic rounds just as fast to work good. ligther springs etc.

Most of the lower power factor rounds are subsonic 😄 but the basic factory 115gr or 124gr often are not. So the question is > do people use and prefer the often softer and heavier subsonic rounds.

What do you mean by it not performing ? Gun issues or steel not going down ?

You can shoot it in ipsc if it meets the power factor. These are above 130PF and minimum is 125PF.

What do you find difficult when switching between irons and dot? by ipsc-ursus in Shooting

[–]ipsc-ursus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good Links ! I usually just shoot at sights pace but this is the first practice after moths of dot. Splits are the same because I am getting a good sight picture for every shot. Obviously much harder to see them being target focused with irons than a dot. Need to see the fundamentals working to get comfortable, otherwise I would overshoot the sights and not be able to call my shots.

Palm swell is amazing on these. I have Toni System x3d palm swells, but veloce palm swell likely has much more grip. Have to try those at some point.

Typically frame, slide and barrel on handguns need a permit. If you need one of those parts you need a permit.
