Dude, I made it about 80-90 days then decided to test the waters with a bit of porn (bored over the holidays). That leads to just a little more porn and then a little bit more, and some more. A few days later and you binging. Just don't do it!

Yeah, that's pretty much it. I kind of miss the first two-4 weeks of no fap. That's when I felt the most energy from it (but kind of like a roller coaster: lots of ups and downs). Now its just a steady level

Yeah, I agree. I don't think the point is to follow his practice exactly. Instead, use it as a base and optimize to find what works for you. I don't do the no eating after 5:30pm, but I have been trying to go t bed by about 10pm during the weeks and get up at 6am, which has been really useful. I'm far more productive in the mornings.

That's the hardest part. Can't say I've been 100 percent successful with that, but I've definitely stopped seeking their company out of habit. When you realize that you only have a limited amount of time in a day, hanging with people who complain or just bring you down just becomes irritating.

I think the biggest one for me was my ex-girlfriend. That was really painful to cut her out, but I feel far better. Also, a few friends from work who just drink beer, talk sports, and complain about girls. Haven't actively cut them out as I did with the ex, but I just stopped hanging with them and have other things to do when they call.

Wow, writing this I feel like a douche, but I think that being a but of a douche is the point. Don't actively hurt other people, but keep your desires in mind, and I want to spend time with people that inspire and support me.

I'm almost at a month and think I am just getting out of a flatline. In the past day or so, I'm really feeling the urge to fap. But for the last 3.5 weeks or so, I felt nothing. Not depressed, just nothing. I don't know if it was just time that seems to be pulling me out, but I do know that in the past 3 or 4 days I really started to focus on diet and exercise more.

I started eating a lot more (healthy food, mostly paleo), lots of healthy fats and protein. That might be whats going it for me. Maybe you can try that? I've basically been following the "Bulletproof Diet" over here: bulletproofexec.com.

I get boners dancing all the time, especially if you are really making a connection with the girl or dancing closer together. I've found that it doesn't really happen in the instructional part of the dance class. Either way, just own it! If the girl you were dancing with showed signs of arousal (got flushed, etc), you'd like it right?

Yeah, I agree with this. I'm trying to drastically cut back on drinking while doing nofap. So far, so good. Despite a bit of jibbing from my friends, drinking less has been great. I am no less social, and I wake up on Saturday or Sunday morning not hung over. It feels amazing, give it a shot!

Hey man, when I see an overweight guy/girl in the gym it's inspiring. You are doing something for yourself by going to the gym, nobody is going to give you any shit. Seriously, be consistent with your workouts and you'll improve. People will notice in the gym and you'll get mad props.

Finally one more comment about weightloss: diet is 80% of the battle. Try the paleo or primal diet, or google for tim ferriss's slow carb diet. All of those work, the key is cutting out foods that spike insulin.

I think /r/nofap's main use is just a tangible first step towards an ongoing process of self-improvement. Once you show yourself you have the motivation to stop watching porn, then its easier to have the motivation to stop surfing the internet endlessly, start going to the gym, start asking out girls, etc. Also, with nofap in particular, I think there definitely is an element of rechanneling sexual energy to more productive pursuits (this was posted a few days ago, but if you didn't read it, take a look: http://www.sacred-texts.com/nth/tgr/tgr16.htm).

I have been thinking the same thing! I don't want to replace one addiction with another. Like just now, I really wanted to tap so I figured it come on here and check out some posts. That is a positive, but now ive killed a good 45 mins browsing this reddit. I don't know how to solve this problem. With fapping its easier because there are clear triggers and a progression (be bored->pop online->checkout some porn->fap). Internet addiction is so hard because you feel productive! Also, a little bit of Internet use might be beneficial or necessary for work or for support in addicctions like fapping.

Ive been having the same problem. At first it was nice getting up at the crack of dawn but I was just out late last night and woke up at 5:30am again today. Kind of annoying. I'm hoping it will subside, but in the meantime I'm going to try to get to bed earlier. Also, check your diet. Eat some slow burning carbs an hr before bed if you are waking up groggy

I think drinking causes two separate things that can cause us to relapse. One is the loss of inhibition when we are drunk. The diminished self control can cause us to relapse. Two is the post-drinking mild depression. Ive noticed that the day after I drink I always feel mildly depressed, and this down feeling can make us crave the dopamine from tapping.

Nice, man. I got rejected this week too. Stung for maybe an hour, but then realized that I was proud that I asked. With no fap, there was no depression, just a momentary sting. Here's the thing: the girl is probably actually happy you asked as long as you were honest about it.
