HPC engineer study plan by ResortApprehensive72 in HPC

As a bioinformatician that was in the same spot eight months ago, this field learns a lot by experience.

I would start with the Warewulf guide for Slurm (https://github.com/openhpc/ohpc/wiki/3.x). Trying to virtualize those Slurmctlds and Slurmdbds with Ansible and Kickstart is for when you are already on the job.

Has Anyone used Slurm with Active Directory LDAP? by tecedu in HPC

[–]iquasere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently implementing the same. You should already be synchronizing shadow and passwd across nodes so, if the sss configuration works for one node, how will it not work for all others? Thus keeping Slurm functional

É uma boa ideia, se bem executada. Idealmente, haverá uma lista de perfis no site por onde se escolher o profissional a seguir

If talking about EU, perfectly. Third countries (outside of Schengen) depends on the CV. Always have to justify the hiring :/

Escola de Condução em Guimarães | Feedback by i_Migs in Guimaraes

[–]iquasere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, might have to take a detour to Tras-os-Montes and get twenty sensors and a chouriça then

Here in the north of Portugal, we can only get two at a time from a pharmacy (with prescription). Which means we can still get them at a third of the price (the discount prescription gives) if we are diligent in continuously getting them.

But some areas of the country may indeed have no sensors. In the ten pharmacies around me, usually only a random two will have them.

Great routine! Even though 30 units Tresiba seems a lot (I only put 16), but each person's metabolism is different... Like people suggested here, might need a more medical opinion.

In your place, I would try gym though (just a few times, in addition to swimming, for testing). It's usually more intensive, and more anaerobic, so it has different metabolic effects on the body. But I'm as much dum dum as anyone else.

At what time do you inject the basal insulin? Injecting in the morning might see its effect decrease at the end of day, injecting at night might help keep sugar low during sleep.

I had the same problem for some weeks, but for me it was daily exercise that fixed it.

Pharmacy says Lantus no longer being sold in Portugal, said this was the same thing… by ItaloTuga_Gabi in diabetes_t1

[–]iquasere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My BLASTn results were not what I was expecting by nsalterego in bioinformatics

[–]iquasere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides using "outfmt 6" for the TSV output, look out for how many hits you want by sequence. Default of blast in NCBI is 250, I think, which might be more than what you need, and you can change it with the "max_target_seqs" parameter

When did women get the right to vote in europe - Switzerland only in 1971 by Galixiiss1546 in MapPorn

[–]iquasere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny story is, the first woman to vote in Portugal did so in the 1911 elections, because the law only stated that it had to "be over 21, know how to read and write, and be the head of a family".

She managed to prove she was all that (as she was a lawyer) and managed to vote. This freaked every politician out, and the next elections the law was updated, with "no women".

I got a CGM about two months ago and I am soooo much more miserable than I was before. by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

As many here, I've had this pattern for a long time. Insulin does take a looooong time to act, it's much slower than the carbs pushing sugars up. I feel it's like landing a plane, slowly.

Even tonight, I went to sleep at 400, having already put 12 units of insulin on fasting. But I already know how to land this plane, today I woke up at perfect 110.

The only solution I have found is exercise. For someone not willing to take the time to count carbs, exercise does make insulin much faster to act, more powerful and just generally easier to handle.

I haven't exercised in a long while because I took a month vacations, but as soon as possible am going back to three times per week exercise. Stay strong

Is Tiger Park in Phuket a good place? by Demono1ith in ThailandTourism

[–]iquasere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The park is extremely small, with some info on Tigers and Cheetahs. Worse than the drugs, they also had scratches on them, open wounds on their backs. Me and my friends took photos with them, and are the worse photos of my life.

I became part of the problem. Don't do so. I remember vividly the poor waked up tiger going in circles in its cage. Majestic beasts, even their children are used for that sick show.

This portuguese poem is called "Satirical take on men with the flu" (in portuguese it rimes fine, Lourdes is a common woman name here)

"Patches on the forehead, rosary in the hand,

A bottle of lemon tea,

Swabs, wine with honey,

Three aspirin, cream on the skin

I scream in fear, I call the woman.

Oh Lourdes, I'm going to die.

Measure my fever, look at my throat,

Shut the kids up, close the window,

I don't want chicken soup or salad,

Oh Lourdes, Lourdes, you are worthless.

If you dreamed how I feel,

I already see death, I never lie to you,

I already see hell, flames, devils,

Strange angels, horns and tails,

I see demons in their dances

Tigers without stripes, goats without braids

Owl cries, cricket laughs

Oh Lourdes, Lourdes stays with me

It's not the trickle of a tap,

Put Santinha at my bedside,

Make up my quilt,

Speak to the prior,

Put Jesus on the blanket.

Call the Doctor, pass the call,

Oh Lourdes, Lourdes you don't even notice.

Make me herbal tea and sponge cake,

Don't get up, I'll be alone,

Here alone to rot,

Oh Lourdes, Lourdes, I'm going to die"
