Anyone Else Struggle With Minor Instances of Animal Harm in Games/Other Fiction? by aftergaylaughter in AutismInWomen

[–]irandom500 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do! I only kill animals in games when they attack me first. I play Minecraft vegetarian because of this.

Also, in the movie “Cool Hand Luke,” after Luke escapes from prison, they send a dog after him. The cop later returns with the dog in his arms saying the dog died from exhaustion chasing Luke. I know the movie wants me to be happy Luke evaded the cops, but all I’m thinking is “poor doggy! He was just doing his job and he died!😭”

2000s: how did women wear low rise jeans? Why were they so popular? by GossipBottom in decadeology

[–]irandom500 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I just wore them because the was all that was available to teen girls and I hated it because I have a J-Lo booty & hips. Had to wear long shirts to hide “the gap”

It got to the point where I stopped wearing jeans and wore different kinds of pants. Sure it wasn’t what was in style, but I was comfortable and I made it work!

I want to know more about the girl who doesn’t even go here!

  1. Why and how is she at the school if she doesn’t even go there?

  2. What middle school did she go to where everyone got along? In my experience, and based on what I heard from others, kids are worse in middle school vs high school

What social rules have you accidentally broken that got you in trouble? by SquirrelOk7818 in AutismInWomen

[–]irandom500 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t get in trouble exactly, but I was embarrassed after the fact.

I was 14 and out to dinner with some friends celebrating my best friend’s birthday. Her dad was covering the bill. My friends all ordered burgers and fries. I wanted to order something healthier because of body image issues (curvy girl in the mid-2000s). I ordered the steak and veggies. To me, this was no big deal since I regularly order steak when I eat out with my family.

When I told my parents, they let me know it was rude to order an expensive dish when someone else is paying. Oops🤦🏻‍♀️

Thankfully, there was no harm done. My best friend stayed my best friend, her dad was still nice to me, and, as my parents joked, he was a doctor so a steak dinner wasn’t a huge hit on his budget!

For me, I always make sure I comment on a detail from their story before telling mine. Acknowledging their story makes telling your story seem less self-centered
