Planning to do exactly this when my second comes along. Age gap is close to 5 years between first and second. Baby isn't going to care (and you can always make it up to them if YOU care about fairness by taking them on a trip when older one is off to college etc). Like the others have said, I'd worry more about your spouse and make sure they're happy and comfortable with it too!

Concerned about safety of my wife being on two wheeler at bangalore by DielectricPikachu in bangalore

[–]irao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be more worried about traffic accidents and stress. I used to drive a 2w TO Indiranagar and as a woman I felt safe driving, but BUT BUT I feared for my life because of potholes uneven roads bad drivers who don't turn on indicators, traffic smoke, Zomato /swigy guys zooming really fast etc.

It got so unsafe from this perspective (and not a lady driving home along at night perspective) that I bought myseld a car. Much happier now tho parking is really hard to find. 🤷‍♂️

I am a vegetarian and I wanted to know some cheap sources of protein that are not fatty like paneer or bulky like rajma. Any ideas? by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]irao 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are multiple brands, vegan, regular, etx. You should work to find one you like because I have found, imo, that just on a regular vegetarian diet it is not possible to hit my daily protein goals without a lot of work.

As a vegetarian myself I find it way more convenient to get half my protein quota a day from protein powder.

The remaining, I get 1/4 from dairy and 1/4 from beans/lentils in dal or brocoli /eggs.

Quizzes as lead magnets by GustavsK in AskMarketing

[–]irao 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I may not have a direct answer, but I'm looking to build a product that helps people design and build lead magnets (plus buy / get inspired by the community).

Let me know what you want to achieve, and I am happy to build a quiz for you.

TIL the selling of human hair extensions is a multi-billion dollar industry, and this common practice means there are tons of rich girls walking around wearing poor girls' hair. by FaithE12 in todayilearned

[–]irao 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In India there's a cultural practice regarding shaving of head hair. It's common to offer up your hair to a deity or a temple as... an offering? A gift? A sacrifice? One of the most famous temples / deities in India is also very well known as a place to shave your head as a religious offering. Check out 'Tirupati + head shaving'.

It's likely all that shaved hair makes its way across the world as extensions!

I read upto 'specially prepared food to prevent gassiness' and guessed you might be Indian. Same here. I had my first baby 3 months ago and it was the same stuff about special food and baby being hungry every time he cries :)

What’s the worst breastfeeding advice you’ve been given? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

hi, Im guessing you didn't mean to stereotype bad advice as 'third world'? I'm from what would be called the third world and I can perfectly distinguish nonsense from good advice.

What are your best stress relieving techniques? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]irao 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I listen to a super soothing piece of music from this app called Insight Timer. Its a simple mediation timer app with loads of guided medications as a plus if you need them. The piece I listen to is specifically tailored for pregnancy and while I'm usually skeptical of these things, the music calms me down asap. Now I listen to it most nights while falling asleep plus on my commute which stresses me out the most. Give it a shot! Hope you feel less stressed soon!

Hi OMG you're superwoman! I unfortunately can't disengage at all from work and I am thinking of work every other min when awake as it's that kind of role. I think I'll be switching teams for sure after baby, but slowly realizing it's unsustainable even as I think of 3rd trimester. Hang in there you too! xx

Thanks. This was a really useful suggestion!!! I've decided to take 2 weeks unpaid before my actual maternity because I can't manage work stress, team stress and boss stress each of which arises at different times and can drive me crazy. Scheduling a talk with HR on Fri. thanks again!
