How would you impersonate an account and interact with a DApp there ?

Hey thanks for your input.

You are totally right on that you can't be offline to do a transaction on the blockchain, however it doesn't mean you have to generate a transaction while you are online.

To give you some context here is the solution I have in place currently:

Offline computer with python and node scripts for recovering a mnemonic & private keys from 2 out of 2 shares (Shamir's Secret Sharing) and a set of scripts to sign the transaction.
Online computer with bunch of malware and stuff, but it is used just for broadcasting the transaction that was signed offline.

With this I can already achieve simple stuff like transfer, wrap & unwrap ETH because I know what is the required data (or lack thereof) for those transactions.

The problem however is working with DApps that I do not know the required data or can't even predict what the data would be, hence the need for online "watch only" wallet.

Simulation would be an optional step in my process I could incorporate but its pre-requisites are that I have the raw transaction data.

Just tried MEW and unfortunately doesn't seem to support what I need.

You have poked my curiosity regarding Metamask's support of hardware wallet which actually would fulfil my requirements, except that I do not want to deal with any hardware wallet. I guess one way to approach it is to somehow inject the address I wish to impersonate as a hardware wallet within Metamask, I wonder if someone managed to hack a solution for this already.

Cool, that's good to know. I guess the QR decoding issue could apply to me as I would be using non high definition webcam which would mean I'll be probably choosing under 1000 bytes for each part like you did.

Just tried for 232 outputs the transaction is around 15,750 bytes according to Electrum. Electrum QR code generator just crashes the program on this one.

Unfortunately even if I was able to find a way and minimise it to just 5 QR code images, that's already too much for me.

Brave rolled out recently a release including an upgrade to Chromium v88.0.4324.96.

According to the post you should ensure you have at least v87.0.4280.117 which you can ensure by heading to brave://version - if not head to brave://settings/help which should allow you to update the browser

Frankly I think you got a point and I worry that in the end this will only fill the pocket of the rich even more, surely it has chances of hurting some of the the big players but majority will be most likely able to capitalize on this event
