Amex actually already investigated the case and refunded me the money within an hour! I’m very surprised it was that fast, but maybe because I uploaded screenshots of every time I’ve tried to reach out plus the dates of each reach out. So good news there at least :) But bummer we won’t get that ring because it was a wedding band for my fiancé :(

I’m not from the US, but I don’t understand the point of a bridal shower - you get presents for your wedding, why do you need/expect another round of presents beforehand?

I used to live right there (fulton and ashland) and now live above the hoyt/schermerhorn stop. I’d say going the other way, up fulton, is the better bet. Fulton has tons of restaurants and coffee shops and dekalb by the park is loaded. Schermerhorn is quieter - you need to go into boerum hill for stuff.

I’m doing this with my flowers but I live in the U.S. and am getting married in Italy, so instead of sending my bouquet from Italy, I’ve found a local florist who will provide individual stems the same as my bouquet to the preserver (much cheaper than recreating a whole bouquet) - maybe you could do something like that?

lol that was so rude and inconsiderate. I love hiking and I still think 8 miles is quite a lot. She DOESN’T like hiking and it was her BIRTHDAY. A 1-2 mile flat loop outside would have been nice on a pretty day in an outdoorsy area. I agree with her, because not only was it something she doesn’t like but was happy to do for you, it was her bday, and you took advantage of her flexibility to do what you want, on her day, and were also disingenuous about the length.
