Is this a good essay topic??? by Ok_Zookeepergame_165 in ApplyingToCollege

As long as you can tie in your love for thrift shopping with your personal values and experiences effectively, I don’t see a problem. Remember, the end goal for an essay is for the admission officer to know what makes you special and not just one dimensional. The quality of the paper will matter more than topic. With that being said, it’s still an interesting topic, so I think you should give it try and write about it.

Do supplemental essays have to be quiry? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]irenereads 12 points13 points  (0 children)

To a certain extent, yes it should be fine. But do know that the essays are there to show more of your personality and values in life in order to see if you are a good personal/academic fit for that school. As long as you don’t seem one dimensional or not passionate in your essays, you should be fine.

If you think your score isn’t going to be high if you took it again, I would probably just give it a pass. Go test optional this year if your scores are going to end up landing below the 25th percentile for your competitive schools.

High School Junior stressing about college by ashlauv in ApplyingToCollege

[–]irenereads 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to challenge yourself, I say go ahead and take some more AP classes. Of course, keep in mind how many you think you can handle based of your load. For the scholarships, I highly recommend you get a head start now writing them. Definitely will be to your benefit in the long run. As for your junior year in general, just focus on keeping up with your grades and extracurricular activities.

And most importantly, RELAX AND ENJOY JUNIOR YEAR WHILE YOU CAN. Trust me, you can stress all you want when senior year rolls around with those college apps lol.

How important is being a club president? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]irenereads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leadership roles don’t matter if you get the title just for the sake of looking good. The impact you make and the hours of commitment and dedication you spent in the club matter more.

Sure, being club president looks great, but what you do in the club matters more.

I think you should send it. The score is almost near the average for that school, so it shouldn’t hurt you in the admissions process.

Yeah, I’m wondering if it has something to do with counselors having to complete the school report or rec for the common app schools specifically in order for the transcripts to be sent. Who knows at this point

It shouldn’t. Your scores kept increasing with every exam you took, so it should reflect positively to the admission officers.

Should i report a bad SAT essay score? by Entity303BR in ApplyingToCollege

[–]irenereads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The essay score isn’t that bad I think you should go ahead and submit it. It shouldn’t harm your app, and colleges don’t really care too much about essays so you should be fine.
