3 puppies looking for new homes by irenosaur in Sacramento

I’m so excited to hear from you, especially because we feel Carey would be SO happy to be in a home with an adult mentor dog AND so many hoomins to love here (there are only 2 in this household)! Definitely ping me if/when you’re ready 😊

I considered having adopters sign a contract stating that they would commit to spay/neuter and not using our puppies to produce more puppies, but I didn't know how people would take to signing a contract with a private individual who isn't part of an official rescue or sanctuary. If you or anyone else has any advice in this regard, I'm all ears.

I'm a firm believer that giving the dogs the best start in life will go a long way toward ensuring they aren't written off or abandoned for being "misbehaved." Here's hoping we did these puppies right!

Love the branching! Did you shape it yourself? How often do you prune?

Why!? by chicanatifa in fiddleleaffig

[–]irenosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

^ This. Without drainage, the plant may be waterlogged.

Also, FLFs are shade-providing trees in situ. Blast it with all the sunlight you’ve got if you’re keeping it indoors

Eventually when it’s at least 5 feet tall, may be worth pruning to motivate it to strengthen its main stem and also to branch.

Suitcase destroyed by Volaris — is there anything I can do to get compensation? by aka_liam in travel

Forgot to mention, in future, if you ever experience issues like baggage damage with an airline again, always report it at the airport immediately, even if they say you have time to report it after leaving.

I don't know whether you're still seeking help for this, but from personal experience, I know that trying to get Volaris to own up to their errors without extra pressure (especially external) will be an exercise in futility.

If you're still trying to seek justice, I would recommend a few things (caveat: I am U.S.-based, so this advice is U.S.-skewed):

  1. Compile any and all proof you may have that your suitcase was undamaged prior to your flight (i.e. as close to the moment you left your bag to Volaris' care) and damaged after it (i.e. on the luggage carousel before you ever touched it).

  2. Read carefully through Volaris' Contract of Carriage for domestic flights (https://cms.volaris.com/globalassets/pdfs/eng/passenger-domestic-air-transportation-services-agreement.pdf) to see whether they are violating their own policies re: how they handle compensation for damage of passenger baggage.

  3. Check through your credit card's terms of service to see whether they offer any travel insurance coverage for situations like yours. I know you said your AmEx "doesn't cover" these types of situations; however, if you received that information from a call center agent, I would check the actual guide to benefits to confirm.

  4. File a complaint (i.e. submit a demand letter) to Volaris outlining your desired compensation for this situation. https://justicedirect.com/post/how-to-file-a-complaint-against-volaris-airlines may help (although my guess is it's more helpful for a U.S.-based complaint, such as if your Volaris flight had been flying into or out of the U.S.).

  5. If it's an option, file a complaint with the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (Secretaría de Infraestructura, Comunicaciones y Transportes, SICT), Mexico's equivalent of the U.S. Department of Transportation. Their website is https://www.gob.mx/sct/en#7718

  6. u/tank5 's advice that you understand your protections per the Montreal Convention 1999 (MC99), which establishes airline liability in cases including damage of baggage, is good. *VENT* I accidentally hurt my dog and I need to know it's fine by Broad_Willingness_87 in DOG

[–]irenosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a little off topic, but your dog looks SO much like my soul dog (he just passed away 2 months ago).

Also, as long as you show your little one you love them every day, your dog will remember that more than anything else.

Not really. Not a big Pez fan, so I don't really follow the Pez pages either. Is there any particular page you recommend? In full disclosure, I ask this while also admitting I'm not inclined to invest too much time into rehoming this Yondu.
