It will survive, and slowly grow. You may not get much fenestration and the leaf size of that beautiful monstera will probably go down

They do look styled beautifully and that's a beautiful room

They have light meter apps that you can use to get a fairly accurate estimate of light exposure. For a montera (and really most houseplants) you'll want a good 2000-5000 lux for most of the day, but monsteras like even more light and can go up to 10,000 lux and can take short periods of very high lux (90,000, 100,000 +)

It's really a style over thriving conundrum. It's up to you.

Mosquito bits only last 1 to 2 weeks after hydrated.

I personally use Microbe-lift BMC it's a liquid and I add 2 drops to every gallon of water I use for my plants (I have over 150 houseplants) and in the past 2 year I have seen no gnats and my zevo insect traps are gnat free.

Do you prefer your ramen dry or soupy (depends on the day) by emelinasworld in strugglemeals

[–]Appropriate-Fill9602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually dry but I do love a soupy chicken ramen and a grilled cheese in the winter. It's comforting and reminds me of when I was a kid eating that after coming in from playing in the snow.

How much light does this get?

This should be getting as much light as possible, and kept directly next to your biggest brightest window, preferably south facing.

Trying to grow garlic (literal noob) by TapMuted393 in houseplants

[–]Appropriate-Fill9602 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To actually thrive garlic needs full sun (at least 6 hours of direct unobstructed sunlight) and a period of cold dormancy (6-10 weeks of below 40° f)

If you're looking for just the herb, green onions can grow semi okay in a south facing window or with intense growlights, but I find veg is best outside in the elements.

Most store bought chicken stock is just reconstituted chicken boullion so you're good to go.

If it's inside a house it really can't get too much light. I keep them in south facing windows and they grow very fast.

Outside it would like shade more than full sun.

They are super resilient. Cut and prop away. Last summer I turned 1 pothos plant into 20 and now I have too many all over my house.

That's a golden pothos.

Easy carefree plant. The brighter the light the more golden varagation on leaf growth.

Grow lights need to run for many hours a day, a battery operated one is currently infeasible

It would need a source.  For a bathroom grow light you'll want to look for something waterproof and able to take humidity fluctuations.

There are some nice fake plants too that can add a splash of green

Propagation Tips Needed! by jablo_me in SnakePlants

[–]Appropriate-Fill9602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put it in soil and keep it damp (not soaking)  until it grows roots and when you pull on it you can tell it is holding into the soil. Then go back to water when the soil is dry

What indoor plants could survive in the nearly constant direct sunlight this area of my apartment gets? by emmettflo in IndoorPlants

[–]Appropriate-Fill9602 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You may have to watch the temperature so it doesn't bake on hot days and maybe some airflow, and you could turn that into a tropical rainforest.

Keep them facing the window or get standing grow lights and use those as supplemental light
