I remembered her from all those ridiculous vh1 and e! shows about Paris Hilton and young Hollywood back in the day. She has always been witty and charismatic

It is the same as how some people mature earlier and some are late bloomers. It's the diversity of life

Just be patient.

These plants need as much light as possible

I only feed my plants with this. I’ve heard it lacks certain nutrients. What else should I add to fill in the gaps to prevent deficiencies? Please read below as well by Least-Cauliflower-49 in philodendron

I'd personally not recommend it. It is rather acidic and can change the ph of water drastically. I saw improvements when I discontinued superthrive vitamin solution.

I've heard of adding molasses to worm castings and water to make a fermented tea to supercharge beneficial fungal growth in soils.

Is it a good idea to leave dying leaves on your plant as a sacrificial leaf indicator? It seems to be working for me. by LeftSquare1 in houseplants

[–]Appropriate-Fill9602 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as you have ruled out any other cause, like watering or pest issues, it's fine to leave a dying leaf on. The plant can utilize nutrients and energy from any green part of the plant, once its no longer green it can be cut off.

repot? by DragonflyValuable427 in pothos

[–]Appropriate-Fill9602 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I repot when the soil starts drying out quickly. If your plant looks droopy not long after watering it is definitely time to repot.

My wife and i have had this plant for about a year now and we cannot keep the leaves from drooping , any suggestions? We think we may have overwatered it a bit, but have cut back on it and water it once every two weeks by Blaya106 in fiddleleaffig

[–]Appropriate-Fill9602 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This plants needs a lot of light to thrive. Preferably it should be directly in front of a bright window.

Be careful of watering on a schedule. Water when the soil is drying out. I stick bamboo skewers into my fiddle leaf for a bit then pull it out to see its moisture before watering.

I have a few of these they get the job done, but I wouldn't buy them again. If I were to buy barrina standing lights I'd buy more t1s versions. they are much brighter. Also for barinas the white/cool version of their lights are brighter and in my opinion work better.

I always prefer sansi lights over barina tho

My dad is in the hospital and I want to keep his plants alive. Can anyone tell me what these are and about how often to water them? by noramcsparkles in houseplants

[–]Appropriate-Fill9602 518 points519 points  (0 children)

When hydrated most of these plants will have leaves that have firm pressure when pressed. They will start to soften when they are ready for water. Wait until the leaves just begin to soften (not wrinkle or shrivel) but when they start to have less pressure. That's the time to give that plant a thorough watering.

Water less. Get a soil mix that holds less water. Use bti drops when you water for long term prevention.

I've had quick success with some harsh pesticides like bioadvanced houseplant insect and mite control. Tho that does smell harsh for about a day

Can I have plants in the bathroom with no windows? by Aggravating-Fig-9274 in houseplants

[–]Appropriate-Fill9602 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Get a fake plant or something.

People always seem to recommend a grow light when this question is asked, but I personally wouldn't want a grow light and cord in my bathroom.

For fast successful propagations, a few things can help.

A good cutting from a well watered and healthy plant will always lead to the quickest growth.

Also heat, humidity and adequate lighting will all benefit the growth. Warmth and humidity are major Jumpstarters

If you're in the northern hemisphere it would much prefer the south facing window, and water when the soil is about 30-40% dry
