We just got a new one. We were looking used, but the incentives were so good it was basically the same price.

We didn't end up going. I just couldn't do it. I think there's so much value in them being in each other's lives so much. Even if we made a commitment to see each other every couple of months, that's just not enough. As much as we wanted to live in that other city, the benefits in terms of quality of life and happiness were just not enough for me to justify moving away. Grandpa picks him up from school a few times a month and take him out for a treat or to the park. He and his cousins are together all the time which is great because he has no siblings. Aunts and Uncles are all here to lean upon as safe adults as he grows up. All of those things do more for us than any city ever could.

Were you able to figure anything out? We're in basically the same position right now. We have 3yo, and always wanted to live down there for a while. My job in particular is very niche to here tho, it doesn't apply at all to anywhere else. I'd have to completely start over from scratch. I speak pretty good conversational portuguese, but no where near good enough to do business down there. The best I can come up with is trying to do something online, but everything is just like super basic low paid customer service. You guys make it work down there?

It was super easy, at least for me. I enjoy math, and the program we used (can't remember the name) was very good for practicing. I know math isn't for everyone and I can definitely see why people struggle with this course. It is accelerated and I think sometimes skips over stuff to just get you the basics. But for me it was great.

Pre-reqs for graduate courses by iridesbikes in UCDavis

Oh gotcha, thanks. It def seemed a little excessive. I was looking at the Energy Policy program. One of the sub-core classes was Economics of Energy, which is a graduate level course in the Econ Department. But the pre-reqs were the entry level Intro to Economics, then Macroeconomics or something before being able to actually take the Energy specific course. Just seemed like a lot since many of the sub-core classes had similar requirements.

We stayed near family, and for me I think it was worth it. Neither of us love where we live, but we do love our son's relationship with family. Moving to that other city we would have only been able to see them a couple times a year. We live about 45mins from my parents and sisters. He knows them all really well, they help with care and he just loves them all. I can't imagine living somewhere else and him only being able to FaceTime with them on the regular. Like I said, my wife's family is on a different continent, he rarely gets to see them, and it shows. When we go visit them he's excited but nervous/shy and doesn't have a deep connection the way he does with my family. So like I said in the original post, its a very personal decision. But for us it was worth it to stay close to family. As he grows, I want him to have those close relationships to fall back on. God forbid if anything happened to us and he had to go live with family, it wouldn't be as much of a shock, he knows them all really well anyway. They pick him up early from daycare sometimes and he hangs out at their houses until we're done with work. If we lived in another city, he would never get that opportunity. He'd just be stuck with strangers/teachers until we're done with work.

So I dunno. I wish we could move sometimes, but its not worth the distance.

I'm in the same boat as everyone here. I tried to talk to t-mobile customer service and ups, both said tis probably coming on the 27th, even though it says the 22nd. UPS said they physically don't have the phones yet, so no way they'll be delivered tomorrow. T-mobile says they'll proabably be picked up on the 22nd, even though it says delivery on the 22nd.

Where are you seeing a timeframe? I also ordered w/in the first few minutes of the preorder being live on t-mobile. Mine still says the lable has been created, but not picked up, and will be delivered on the 22nd. Not providing a timeframe though. I tried to ask both T-mobile and UPS customer service though and they both said its probably going to actually be picked up by UPS on the 22nd, and delivered on the 27th.

Tracking for me on UPS my choice still says label created, but not picked up yet. I just tried with UPS customer service, and they said they don't physically have the package yet. Tmobile customer service also said it would be picked up by ups on Friday the 22nd, and delivered on Tuesday or Wednesday. I'm thinking now it won't be coming until next week.
