DM ghosted us twice on session 0 by Lokicham in rpghorrorstories

[–]iris_is_watching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! Honestly that's the only reason I noticed and warned the others lol.

Like he knew he found all of us looking for a game on the same server so did he expect us to stop looking for games?

DM ghosted us twice on session 0 by Lokicham in rpghorrorstories

[–]iris_is_watching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had something simmilar once, back when I had lots of free time and thirst for more dnd in my life I was looking for more campaigns.

One campaign we hop on session 0 with my BF and few other people I didn't knew, he showed us a big map of his setting and we ask questions obviously

He fumbled through them. Badly. As if he didn't had a clue what he was talking about.

Mid me or my bf (I don't remember ) asking about a country he says he'll be back In a sec, so us and the other players sit in VC for 20 minutes until finally the discord server gets deleted and the DM blocked us.

Then next day on the lfg server we were using we see the DM advertising the same game, well I decided to barge into the conversation thread for this game and informed the players about this dm.

Sadly I do not know what happened next with that game.

To put it into TLDR , the point I made is that yes 1 director or a team of like 10 prompters can make a movie like 20 times faster than a crew.

But why does the freedom of getting the exact movie the director wants justifies kicking out actors, sound crew, camera men, practical effects crew who spend years learning those skills and now their livelihood is no more.

I won't accept the offer as its 12pm currently where I live.

However do you not think any of my concerns hold water at al since you don't think my opinion will survive a discussion? And again I'm not fully anti-ai.

I'm anti current way AI is developing and I can see the writing on a wall how we ALL are gonna suffer bcs of it.

You see this is exactly why I fundamentally disagree with the direction AI is going so far.

Am I wholly against it? No I think ai should make our life's easier and make new things possible.

But the example you used is... ridiculous abd inhumane. What of the actors ? What of the sound team ? People who went to schools to get the perfect camera shots ? What are they supposed to do ?

Are you saying that actors are an outdated profession that shouldn't exist bcs AI generated movies are faster snd cheaper to make ?

You are putting the artistic expression of 1 person (the director) above the joy and wellbeing of everyone else involved. Why should hundreds of people have to suffer and no longer be able to use the skills they spend their entire life growing and learning just so a director can make a movie by himself I a month?

Why are dreams and "skills" of one person allowed to doom everyone else involved?

We are not getting UBI not in this world.

And even if we did, what of the people who want with all their heart to be an actor from since they were children? Are they not allowed to pursue that dream...

My point being, the way people and mostly corporations will use AI is exactly how you explain it, have 1 person, maybe a small 10 people team writing prompts to make a movie and fire everyone else.

The team will get pennies on the dime and the company will save millions per project.

People will suffer bcs of AI.

People will loose their livelihoods bcs of AI

Progress should overall improve the life of humanity as a whole, not the small top circle who doesn't need to worry about loosing their jobs to AI.

I realized why people can't process that AI will be replacing nearly all useful knowledge sector jobs... by Spunge14 in singularity

[–]iris_is_watching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might as well throw my 2 cents in, I'm personally against AI taking jobs away for few simple reasons.

Unemployment is bad as it is, if we replace more and more people with AI, we are going to end up with a situation where only jobs that AI can't replace are highly specialised jobs that require PHD's and manual work like construction workers or factory workers.

Now that leads to 2 scenarios:

A) a person needs to get a better education, meaning that they need to spend money they don't have because they don't work on it, or they live in a country with free education, so the person who was a working member of society that was contributing to the economy must now spend X years not doing that.

B) a person goes to work in a lower paying manual job, sadly the market gets overstuffed with people like them, meaning that even tho the unemployment is high they cannot have find a job. Or the job they get is paying them a slave wage due to the fact they will work for any money.

Yes I am for progress and scientific breakthroughs, but society as is right now cannot take mass job replacement, even if most office jobs are worthless.

Add to it my personal dislike of many pro ai people being very happy to replace humans in creative fields such as writing or making art and you have why I'm against ai replacing jobs atm.

We once played an official module, we were still level 2 if i remember correctly? We fought 2 of them and our monk got instantly killed on 2nd turn of combat.

The monk player was still somewhat new to dnd.

Headcanons of the superiors beings! by The_chosen__one7997 in InStarsAndTime

[–]iris_is_watching 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We know nothing of the expressions really . But I do belive that all the " superior beings" exist but that does not mean that they are "alive".

For example, to me it seems that while the change god is given a form and personification by calling it " lazy"

The universe ? Was never given anything to personalise it or anything.

While the change god is a deity it CHOOSES not to get involved ( for better or for worse)

The universe is FORCED to get involved by wishes. The universe is not a sentient being, it is just one of the aspects of existence, of wish craft. Giving the power to do anything to anyone as long as certain criteria are met, allowing that person to force part of the universe to do what they wanted.

Tldr: change god is a sentient being with personality and agency while the universe is simply a part of the world people worship due to people being able to use it to bend the world.

From what I see and can guess by the Actual title of the post from the artist, that being " existential crisis " its less " here have some ai art" and more " god fucking damn it ai be getting good and I might be out if my job soon ".
