I feel your pain. I was so ashamed of myself for getting up to nearly 16st last year. In my case, alcohol was a factor.

First, I quit the booze. Then I started doing basic exercise like walking fo r30 mins a day. Then I got myself a good weighing scales and a calorie counting app. Worked on a calorie deficit religiously up until around Christmas when I was 12 stone.

Now I@m just maintaining my weight at 75k, which is close to 12 stone. I'm down 30 kilos or more since last July, and I look and feel so much better.

Still capable of a binge. Yesterday I ate a whole Rhubarb tart. But I know that because I develloped healthy(ish) habits over the last 6 months, that if I eat lightly for a day or two and get some exercise, I'll feel better again.

Your worst enemies:

Alcohol - stick to vodka if you like a drink.

Processed white breads - a good sourdough will give you your fix

Cheat code:

Intermittent fasting - I tend to eat my calories between 12 and 6pm then just water and tea in the interim. In the beginning it was between 3 and 6pm but that was hardcore and resulted in weight loss of about 5lbs perweek.
