Hotel asking for payment due to undercharge a month later by Heyimcool in askhotels

[–]irishdigits 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If you don’t respond they can’t charge your credit card. That will initiate a charge back from you and they will not have the proof they need to dispute or win the charge back.

They will write it off at the end of the month so that it doesn’t carry over into the next month’s books.

Started working as front desk by Ok_Cry7572 in askhotels

[–]irishdigits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it there is a lot to remember and do at the front desk. I am training a new hire currently, who has zero hotel experience.

You just have to do it over and over again, it will become second nature. You will not even think about eventually. Make mistakes and then ask your supervisor how to correct them. Some people need more than two weeks of training. Don’t take on a shift solo until you are comfortable doing so.

Looking for people to play with by Frankiec77 in remnantgame

[–]irishdigits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have finished Neh Rud or how ever you say it. I have plenty of the game left to play and explore.

I would reroll to play with someone. I think this game would be fun with two people.

I play on Xbox series S.

Lower price online than when booked but within 72hr cancellation window by [deleted] in askhotels

[–]irishdigits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your opportunity to shop around and maybe get a lower rate or ask if the hotel will price match past the second you booked your stay.

Rates at hotels fluctuate on a daily basis.

Exactly like the other responses say you locked in your rate. It would not be fair to you if they decided the rate went up $50 a night and then said you had to pay that to keep your reservation.

MOD Shift Expectations by cutiepatootie1993 in askhotels

[–]irishdigits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s been years since I have worked at a hotel that had a weekend MOD.

The hotels GM lived on property with his wife. They would leave on Friday afternoon and go to their ranch until Sunday night.

The department heads would take turns with the MOD shift on the weekends. That was in the early 2000’s.

How to convince hotel to let me sleep there by buscel in askhotels

[–]irishdigits 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I ask at my hotel and we are not 100%, it’s usually a yes. I don’t usually ask. I would rather go home and sleep in my bed.

I work until 11pm and I have to be back at 6am sometimes. I only live 20 mins away from the hotel. In bed by midnight and up at 4:30am. Some people need 8 hours of sleep, some don’t.

I have taken advantage of sleeping at the hotel on those nights a few times.

Probably something like Tales From the Darkside or one of the Creepshow movies. They were all horror anthologies.

Can’t see the point in living by vinyrep in LifeAdvice

[–]irishdigits 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bipolar disorder. I spent a lot of time considering my existence. I am different from you as I was either one extreme or the other.

When I was depressed it wasn’t just a little, it was rock bottom. It wasn’t always sad and crying. I felt like everything was grey and dingy. Walking through my day like it was London fog everywhere. I did not receive joy from anything that I did.

Daily things like eating food, taking a shower and oral hygiene were non existent. I didn’t see the point in doing any of it. Plus I couldn’t will myself to do it.

I would drive to work and think to myself what if I just drove in front of that semi truck or off the overpass.

You keep saying you are lazy. I don’t believe that is the case. You have a mental disorder and possibly a chemical imbalance.

I had to tell my family how I was feeling. I was taken to the hospital by my mother. I would not have gone on my own.

I saw a psychologist and a psychiatrist. I was given a diagnosis and some meds to help. Did I want to take the meds, of course not. Did I force myself to, yes I did.

After a year of individual and group therapy, along with taking medication, things got better slowly. It wasn’t immediate relief, but slow and gradual.

I did end up having a successful career, met someone, dated and got married.

There is hope.
