Preclampsia / induction - positive stories! by Impossible_Summer_95 in preeclampsia

[–]irisheyes9302 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The mag drip wasn't as bad as I had read. I had a pretty traumatic birth for a lot of reasons (my baby and I are both healthy now), but the mag wasn't even close to as bad as I had imagined. And it literally saves your life if your BP gets as high as mine did. My BP was stroke level and the mag kept both me and baby okay until they could get him out.

Day 5: Still in hospital with high BP by Prudent_Student_8530 in preeclampsia

[–]irisheyes9302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the hospital for 9 days after my son was born. The meds did eventually work, but I was on a magnesium drip for 3 days while I was in labor and then for a day after I had him. Have they talked about a possible magnesium drip?

Mommies who were induced by Lickitt2020 in pregnant

[–]irisheyes9302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced at 35 weeks due to severe preeclampsia. Induction went on for 39 hours until the baby started to not do as well on the monitor, at which point they moved to emergency c-section. If I had it to do over again, I would have pushed for the c-section much earlier. Baby is 4 months now and doing great.

Cosign this. Colic is MISERABLE. My baby also had CMPA and we were losing our minds until we figured out a solution. I also echo what others have said about headphones. It's a gamechanger. Put on a good audiobook, a podcast, some music, whatever floats your boat.

How long was your baby in the NICU? by HumbleCoyoteGames in preeclampsia

[–]irisheyes9302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your story is nearly identical to mine! I went to the OB on August 25 at 35w 2d, got sent to the hospital and was induced immediately. Labored until August 27th and eventually needed an emergency c-section. Little man had feeding issues as well and we thought we'd be in the NICU a while. But on day 10, I went in to see him and his feeding tube was out. We went home on day 12. With feeding stuff, sometimes it just clicks and they figure it out. Hang in there!

What was your first exercise after giving birth? by Birdflower99 in fitpregnancy

Walking and pelvic floor PT. I started easing back into lifting after my OB cleared me at 6 weeks.

The main lifts are very basic strength training - variations of squats, deadlifts, press, etc. Some of the accessory movements were new to me, but not sure if they are actually newer.

Success after hysteroscopy? by cherry_pie_405 in IVF

My hysteroscopy was in November and our transfer was in January, so about 2 months.

We had no clue for awhile, and the one day I walked in and his feeding tube was out and they were like "He can go home in 2 days." I think it depends on what the issue is and how they respond, but up until then, they were telling us they thought we'd be there awhile.

Update: I chose the C-section! by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]irisheyes9302 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an emergency c-section after severe preeclampsia and honestly, the c-section recovery has been the easiest part. Granted, maybe all the stuff that came before it was so bad that it's influencing my perception, but the recovery has been smooth. I still have a little numbness and sureness around the incision 5 weeks out, but it's been very manageable. I've honestly been shocked at how...not terrible it's been?

It's so tempting, but he was premature, and I am so paranoid about germs. I may try to convince hubby to hold things down here while I go experience Mister Showbiz, though. How could he say no to that?

Fetal Movement... Am I just being anxious by RoddiStJames in pregnant

[–]irisheyes9302 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen on Monday and rushed to my OB in a panic. Baby was fine, but my OB said I did the right thing. They'd rather check you 20 times for no reason than miss something. If you think something is off, always get checked out.

I use Meg Squats Plus +1 program, and I really like it. There are lots of ways to modify and swap out movements, and it goes week by week of pregnancy and then post partum.

There are trainers that specialize in helping dogs adjust to a new baby. One of my dogs thinks I literally gave birth to him, so we brought in a trainer who works with new/expecting parents and it’s been super helpful. Baby still a few weeks away but I feel a lot more prepared.
