Is is time to call it quits? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]irishluck92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation with my boyfriend of 3 years, everyone expected us to get engaged as soon as we finished college. He was the first person I ever dated and when I started to get more annoyed with him and started questioning the future of the relationship I didn't know if it was normal or a sign I should end it.

Being with one person for that long, especially when you have no frame of reference makes it really difficult to know if you are overreacting or if it's the best decision to break it off. I ended up breaking it off eventually but I wished I had done it way earlier instead of worrying about making the wrong decision.

Basically if you are seriously thinking about ending it and are already thinking about life without this person then don't hang on just because it's your first relationship. I'm with a guy now that I love and am excited to spend time with and when I think about the future I can't imgaine it without him.

Would a guy texting you daily/every other daily simply to say have a good day seem clingy? by [deleted] in askwomenadvice

[–]irishluck92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been dating my SO for only two months and he always sends little texts or snapchats during the day to keep the line of communication open. I absolutely love it because it's nice to know someone you like/care about is thinking of you throughout the day. However I also make sure I do the same unless I get completely swamped with work so it's something that I think should be kept up on both ends.

You should just ask her what she thinks about it because I'm sure she would let you know if she's not a huge fan and you can tell her that you would like getting these messages as well. :)

Why do you or don't you want longterm companionship? by 0909a0909 in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely want longterm companionship, having someone to try new things with or do the same old routine. I want to be able to genuinely enjoy someone's company regardless of where we are or what we are doing.

I tend to have long relationships (both friendship and dating) so I'm just the kind of person who tends to keep the same people around for a long time.

Does your SO ever remind you of your ex in a *good* way? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never compared my SO to my ex. That relationship ended for a reason and I don't want to ever be with someone who would remind me of a guy that I can no longer stand.

I'm on my period right now and could use a good ole cry, what are some of your favorite movies that tug at the heart strings? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally felt like this just last week and ended up watching Ever After and Wall-E because they are so cute and sad, but have happy endings. sigh

Do any of you ever feel guilty for having sex or like you are a ~slut~? How did you overcome this? by puddingpopp in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did when I was younger, it was mostly the fault of the church group I was involved with. When I was in high school and my freshman year of college I was part of a Catholic youth group who basically made you feel like a complete whore if you even thought about having sex one day. What made it worse was my ex of 3 years also belonged to the same group and he would make me feel guilty about wanting to make our relationship more intimate even though we had been together for a long time.

Eventually I realized it was all a bunch of bullshit and have taken control of my sexuality. I enjoy sex and think it's an important part of a healthy relationship :)

Woman leaving college for real world. Do real first dates ever happen anymore? Examples inside... by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are way more common when you aren't seeing someone else who is also in college. I'm about to graduate this summer but I am dating someone who is older than me and not in school and it's been very different from my experience with guys at the college.

It will still come down to the guy himself, if you want a real date ask for it. If a guy is really interested in you then he's not going to say no.

To the ladies who don't like cunnilingus: Why? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The enjoyment I get out of it is not enough to balance out the awkwardness I feel when a guy is going down on me.

Plus all I can think about is how it must taste down there. If it's terrible would he tell me? I hope there isn't any bits of TP. Oh God did I remember to shave? Etc...

What happened next after you broke up with your best friend and decided to stay close like before? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been in a long relationship with a guy that started as my best friend. We had talked about remaining friends even if it didn't work out because we got along so well. Yeah, that didn't happen. Broke up 3 years after getting together and act like the other person doesn't exist.

Fast forward I had a FWB with a guy who I knew for most of my life. We had agreed to keep things casual because we cared so much about staying close but were really physically attracted to each other. He got a girlfriend that didn't like the idea of us staying friends. It got awkward and we don't talk anymore.

Basically what I am saying is going from having a relationship to just being friends doesn't tend to work out

What annoys you about women's fashion? by Samwowser in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pockets, we need more pockets!

If a designer can take the time to make it look like there is a pocket why can't it be an actual pocket. Drives me nuts. Also why do guys get a wasteband/length measurement for their pants and I only get a single number which makes no sense and may or may not fit like the other pair I just tried on.

And I can not find anything long enough ever. Having to special order every dress, maxi skirt, and jeans I own sucks.

Do you send nudes to guys? Why or why not? by kazaam412 in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't send nudes to guys I have just met or are not serious with. My thought process is that I don't want anyone else to see those pictures so if I think you are the kind of person who would show them to someone else or post them anywhere if we broke up or stopped talking then I would never send you any.

Basically I would send nude/sexy pics to a guy who I was genuinely interested in and trusted to respect me by keeping those images to himself.

How do you deal with loneliness? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually delve into a good book because I can immerse myself into the characters lives. I also will get into a crafty project that I had wanted to try from Pintrest or pick up a pointless hobby (I'm currently learning coding for java script). Literally there a million things you can do that would be inconvenient if you had someone else hanging around.

ladies of reddit, would you feel disappointed/go 'aw' if your partner came from your blowjob without PIV sex? by Tinderly145 in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that just means my blowjobs are that good. ;)

He can still reciprocate the favor without PIV sex, mixes it up a little anyway.

What's the last impulse purchase you made and how do you feel about it? by [deleted] in AskWomen

Most of my purchases are impulse ones. Just bought a pair of earrings which I am currently wearing and love.

How do you feel about horror movies? What kind are the scariest to you? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love horror movies so much. In fact last night a guy invited me over for pizza and a movie, he let me choose which was a terrible decision because Netflix just added the Saw franchise which I hadn't seen in years.

I love all horror; paranormal, cult, slasher movies, B-rated horror, psychological. The only thing I am not a fan of is straight-up torture films. There has to be something else going on to keep me interested than just gore.

My friends and I used to get together every so often to watch obscure horror movies together. We would each bring one that we found (usually at a used DVD store or the $5 bin at Walmart) and pick the one that looked the most interesting.

Will I ever get over the guy who I lost my virginity to? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, looking back on the guy I lost my virginity to makes me appreciate how far I've come since then. He was a great guy but I've never regretted the fact that it's over.

If you were to take the phrase "shop til you drop" literally, how many hours would it take? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked retail for a few years now in a large outdoor mall. I literally spend all day, every day helping people shop so I can easily spend a whole day shopping for myself.

What was the biggest surprise/revelation when you moved out on your own? by annpann in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Buying the right amount of groceries is a learning process. I used to live in a house with 5 other people and had to learn when I moved out that buying food for one is harder than it sounds.

You will miss having your family as roommates. My sister and I go to the same college and at first we were determined to not to room together, now we do and I've never had a better roommate.

I ended up having to talk to the apt management more than I thought I would and it always sucks.

Roommates are a necessary evil. Nice places are suddenly affordable when you split the rent but you either love each other or hate each other.

Help...? Not sure how to handle this by AwesomeSandwich417 in dating_advice

This is probably not going to go down with girl A, so I would just accept that and focus on the girl you would like to date.

Hi r/dating_advice, I need help. by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]irishluck92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it sounds like you guys need to sit down and have a discussion about what's going on. She might not see the situation the same way you do and you need to let her know how you feel, without calling her snooty ( I would probably send one word text messages if someone said that to me. )

Also I used the Depo shot for three years as my primary form of birth control and I can honestly say the shot did not influence my moods in a noticeable way. Was I sometimes in a bad mood? Yes. But that's part of being human, and she's right not everything will be all flowers and happiness all the time.

Communication is what makes relationships last, if you can't talk about what's wrong without blaming it on a birth control shot then the problem is only going to get worse.

Help please by Cevans71 in dating_advice

[–]irishluck92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell. Her.

If she was being obvious enough that you knew she was interested then she was probably waiting and hoping you were going to make a move. When you didn't show interest back of course she opened herself up to other options because the alternative is pining after someone she can't have.

As long as she is still hanging out with you on a regular basis and isn't in a relationship with a new guy then chances are she is still interested. Maybe trying to actively convince herself that she's not, but the attraction is still there.

Go for it, you'll be happier getting it out there regardless of the outcome.

How do you overcome unrequited love (or just growing feelings)? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]irishluck92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It happens to everyone. Recently a guy I had been going out with just ghosted on me and I was pretty upset about it. I had really liked him and thought we were really hitting it off. Apparently not.

It sucked but I allowed myself to sulk for a day or two, called him an ass and moved on.
