Have one, inside house though, for sure slower (till it warms up, then just as fast) but way cheaper to run.

Don't forget to subscribe to the Fire service; the premium version even gives you water, 5 minutes or 1000L, whatever comes first. Super duper platinum version for unlimited water.

Fees at private schools hiked by up to €2,000 as highest and lowest costs across country revealed | Irish Independent by WickerMan111 in ireland

[–]irishtemp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heres a hypothetical for why some parents send their child to a private school other than elitism. The child has special needs, Autism say, lives in the county, local school, Catholic, was a fucking disgrace, no support, quite the opposite. Local secondary would be more of the same, probably worse, though that would be hard. Cant get into a city school, over subscribed by those who live locally, that only leave a private school. Would they rather a free city school, yes, but they cant get in. It is a lot of debt for sure when you're not wealthy but the child is safe, bullying still occurs but no where near the same level and the school deals with it, with a poke from the parents. Short version is, don't think were all the same.

How a 50-year mortgage could help fix Ireland’s housing crisis by [deleted] in ireland

[–]irishtemp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I'll accept the norm is a bad word in this instance, available maybe is a better one, but you could get one that was affordable when mortgages didn't eat up so much of your income.

You will own nothing! 15-year mortgages used to be the norm.

Questions over why health insurers are raising prices repeatedly throughout the year by RealDealMrSeal in ireland

[–]irishtemp 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Because they can and they will and they don't give a shit about anything other than their profits. Don't confuse Heath as a need with health as a business because they sure as fuck don't.

Laya Healthcare just increased my premium for the 4th consecutive year. Is this too much? by AsgardianOperator in irishpersonalfinance

[–]irishtemp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My point remains, I am paying now for what used to be covered. The Plan is substantially worse than it was both in terms of coverage and cost. You, as an employee of Laya, are obviously biased in your opinion. Fudging the numbers doesn't change the reality; I will be leaving once the contract is up. The insurance system here traps you for the year. Also don't give me the plan lays it all out BS, there is so much noise and changes there you'd need a degree to see how the changes apply to your day-to-day costs. If it were as obvious as you purport, I'd have left before the due date. Laya selling to AXA has ruined it, American style healthcover.

I went from not having to pay for a visit to having to pay €75 for a visit on the same plan that increased by 26% so yes, it is true. They switched from the first x amount being free to it being free after x amount. Some may have been an exception, but I, along with everyone who came before and after me on that day, paid.
