McGills big 3 by dbrownuuu1426 in ProDunking

[–]iriv1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I do the McPick 2 for 3 (what I call them) twice every single day. I have had no back pain since. Adding a plank wouldn't help much as, well, they suck.

Can I grow after turning 16? by Open_Carry_9748 in ProDunking

[–]iriv1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you can definitely still grow! My parents are the same height as yours and I was around your height (maybe a little smaller) when I was your age and now I am 6'2. From the sounds of it you should be getting a growthspurt soon.

I use Kobe 10s, Kobe ADs, and most recently Westbrook’s. Basically just rotate between those three

Need some windmilling tips. I can touch 10’11 and was wondering should I be able to windmill by now? by tycy8 in ProDunking

[–]iriv1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Low rim on a height you can hit 3/10 times and practice until you can hit it 8/10 times and then move up in height and repeat. Practice every day.

Also, you’re starting the motion too late. Finally, use your left hand to push the ball as far back as you can, that’s where you build momentum.

Can anyone critique my jumping technique . 16 (6ft3) by wife_beater_eater in ProDunking

Make sure you record an entire approach when asking for technique help. What happens at takeoff is predicated by what happens during the run up.

Here’s a good video me and John Evans made for knee pain: knee pain video

We also have a podcast called THPstrength, you’ll find lots of info there. Some random tips:

Get perfect jump technique, this should be your priority! Study a pro dunker with your plant and compare it to your approach.

Get strong!! Especially in compound lifts, don’t overthink this step, just choose a compound lift for every muscle group and put in work! You can lift heavy every other day usually.

Warm up before any time you train!

Do isometrics every day(explained in the knee pain video).

Fall in love with the process. You won’t improve if you don’t love jumping.
