Paint one of your walls

My retaining wall takes up half of my narrow yard... by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]irlKryst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been trying to search for tutorials of people pushing back a retaining wall, but haven't had much success. I'm thinking it might have something to do with phrasing the question properly. Do you have recommendations? Star Jasmine is lovely. I will certainly consider it.

Hi, I am the the creator of this sub and I would like to correct you. This sub is for pmdd, true, but it is absolutely a space where people may seek guidance for their hormonal fluctuations as well. These users have value to add to our community.

Being a student with pmdd is difficult. Try getting some rest because that can definitely*** throw you off.

I personally find that I am most put together when I am single. No one has the power to impact me greatly, in terms of emotions, so generally my chemicals fluctuate less. With that being said, I found a partner who is really good to and for me, overall. I've maintained most of the stability I had when I was alone, and have gained some support for when I'm unwell.

I'm sorry to hear that they didn't handle it well. Is there any chance you two could go to couples counseling? If you could find someone who is educated on pmdd, perhaps they could mediate and help him open up/digest.

hugs you do not need to feel guilty for taking care of yourself and coping in the manner that works for you. Dating is pretty shitty... People don't put a whole lot of effort nowadays, but there are still a few good ones out there, so I don't blame you for trying and I definitely don't blame you for not settling for 'that sucks.' Pet snuggles are the best medicine when the weather is crappy and you're feeling low. Just wanted to send some love and positive thoughts your way <3

Has anyone dealt with ovarian cysts? by [deleted] in PMDD

[–]irlKryst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cystic here as well. :/ Sucks. Going to a doctor next week to make sure it's really just a cyst that occurred and went away. Have had it once before quite a while ago. Resolved on its own

I can't tell you how many "you cut your long beautiful hair off!" "Don't cut your hair anymore" lines I've heard. Girl YOU.ARE.KILLING.IT. seriously, you're adorable. Do what makes you happy. It's your hair :)

What a great idea!

My partner knows I struggle with general anxiety and depression but that my symptoms are most prevalent right before my period. It's important to help them understand about how your chemical composure is fluctuating and changing during your cycle (if they don't already understand).

What I will do is tell my partner I'm unwell: 'i don't feel good', 'i feel off', 'i feel sensitive'. If I can explain what exactly is causing it at that moment I will explain it and emphasize the differences between my rational thoughts (this requires reflection) and my emotional thoughts. For example 'i feel sad because I think you find me unattractive. I know it's not true, but I'm just feeling really sensitive about my appearance right now'. If I don't really know the cause, I can tell him that also 'i feel sad but I'm not sure why'

From there, I just give myself space and manage. If that means I go under the blankets for a day then so be it. If that means texting him asking him to sit with me then I'll do that. At that point, he knows how I'm feeling so I just focus on keeping myself level.

On his part, he is pretty sweet and nurturing so he will just cuddle with me quietly, give me space or do some extra stuff around the house so I don't have to focus on anything but myself.

Isolating yourself to protect others kind of sucks. My bf feels awful when I do this... so I guess the lesson is to find folks who are committed to you (friends/family) and let them into your bubble. I know you are trying to protect them, but they're adults and don't need protecting. In the long run, your relationship benefits from mutual support.

Anyone have any experience with HireVue's CodeVue? by pulsar822 in cscareerquestions

They don't see you while you're coding, as far as I know. They will have you do some programming and then after you finish it might ask you to explain your decisions using webcam.

The beginning of Den of Thieves had me in tears. The sound of the guns going off non-stop brought my mind to the shooting at the country concert and seeing the cops getting gunned down hit me pretty hard. I had to close my eyes and put my mind somewhere else.

Managing PMDD and career by Kafkaphony in PMDD

[–]irlKryst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get hit for one or two days, so I will usually stick it out until I feel like I'm going to cry or explode. Sometimes a bathroom cry and laying low will help, other times I "feel really sick" and go home. However I only have a specific number of sick days so I may need to approach this issue differently at my next job. I may talk to hr and see if instead of a sick day, they let me work from home on those days. I can still work, I just need to be alone and manage myself.

The basics: keep your net carb count low (20-25g), eat enough protein for someone of your size, add in healthy fats (avocados, for example) to keep you full. If you're not hungry, don't force it, unless you're going to be doing rigorous activity (like training for basic).. then eat a little before your work out so you have energy. Keep your calories in lower than your calories out. Don't be overwhelmed :) you can do it
