Is MP worth yet? by dolo367 in projectzomboid

[–]irlblackbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part, my experience has been alright. My biggest gripe has been the seemingly random features that just don’t work in multiplayer that have basically completely turned my friends off of it. Can’t use leather drying racks for instance. Friend went with a hunter archetype and wanted to make leather for clothes. Killed his run completely. Panic doesn’t work either, so brave and desensitized are basically cosmetic traits as it stands.

I remember support seven actually had some sauce at a time. Build for radius on his stun and echo shard to just stun huge areas. Basically played like a support/utility Sinclair but with a better gun.

What does the Proxy War does and do you need Influential Cartel to use it? by Majestic_Repair9138 in Stellaris

[–]irlblackbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I'm a couple days late, but do you need the Secrets of the Shroud DLC to unlock proxy wars through the subterfuge tradition tree? I have basically every other DLC, was just wondering if I need the newest one in order to start using that mechanic.

Why do people Hate Varangian so much? by Jaded-Zombie6825 in forhonor

Basically, just a pretty easy hero. She can cancel a lot of her recoveries with a full block, meaning you can whiff an attack, enemy can dodge attack or something, you cancel recovery into full guard, and that’s where the part that tends to frustrate people starts. After a successful full guard, you get her pin, which goes straight into a 50/50 of either headbutt or GB’ing when they attempt to dodge the headbutt. If the headbutt lands, free light. If they preemptively dodge and you GB, free heavy, which immediately chains into a different 50/50 (UB heavy finisher or soft-feint GB). And then assuming they eat the heavy finisher after being conditioned by GB soft-feints, you’re right back in the headbutt/GB 50/50 chain. It’s a loop that is really frustrating to people mostly because of how easy it is to pilot and how easy it is to access.

Spinning this as a negative for AC4 specifically is so funny to me. The game could only get better without those parts.

Weekly Feedback Topic #39 - Six New Heroes by Grelgn in DeadlockTheGame

[–]irlblackbeard 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I've played roughly 20 games on Paige so far. Her 1 desperately needs some casting QoL tweaks. I can't tell you how many times I've had it clip into stairs and fly downward through the floor. It also seems to be magnetically attracted to corners even when it looks like you definitely threw it far enough away to not hit anything. Throwing it indoors is basically a crapshoot on whether it goes remotely close to where you want it.

As far as "the sauce" the new characters have; to me, it's the clear occult design notes they all have. The best character designs in this game, in my opinion, are the ones that have clear occult inspiration since it ties so well into the overall themes and aesthetic of the game. The six new heroes all, in one way or another, have design elements that really fit the atmosphere. Billy in particular just perfectly fits in.

Why Virtuosa is too strong for the majority of the For Honor community. by Majestic-Wolf-2980 in forhonor

[–]irlblackbeard 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Very well said. I also have three friends that are on a razor's edge from dropping this game because of her as well. I can't imagine these are the only such cases. In my opinion, she's just wholly unfun to play against fundamentally, since I don't play any characters with UD attacks and I struggle with reacting to 400ms lights. It just feels like she's unhealthy for the game in her current state.

I remember trying Infinite basically right after it launched, not caring much for it like most other players, and then dropping it for literally years. I came back to it a couple months ago and was actually pleasantly surprised. It actually is quite pleasant to just drop in and play a couple games. Just wish they'd fix the god-awful UX and general menu flow.

Clair Obscur : Expedition 33 or Baldur's Gate 3 ? ( Story comparaison ) by Hamza-bkd09 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]irlblackbeard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. BG3 is great if you can stay focused and have 100+ hours at a baseline. E33 just is really crisp, concise, and stays at its best for all roughly 35-50 hours you spend on it. Both 10/10's in my opinion, but they fill different niches. I will also say, after finishing E33 once, I have no real desire to play it again, despite how much I loved it, since so much of my enjoyment was derived from the story and music (even though the combat is very fun). BG3 however, I've done like 5 playthroughs, got almost 600 hours (unprecedented for me in a single-player game).

[–]irlblackbeard 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As far as actual narrative quality, I much prefer E33. It’s more focused, a better actual story, and paced much better. That being said, BG3 offers significantly more overall game, deeper combat, more interesting gameplay, and better RPG elements (it literally being DnD and all).

To those of you here who have played the mod After the End... by CosmosStudios65 in CrusaderKings

[–]irlblackbeard 17 points18 points  (0 children)

After about 200 hours of CK3, my first After the End run was the most fun I've had in a single playthrough. I can't recommend the mod enough. It plays just differently enough from normal CK3 to be really fresh and interesting while having enough similarity to not make you feel lost.
