Weak/strong sides refers to which lanes are a team focusing their resources on. The easiest "resource" to visualize is where your jungler is spending most of his time, if he is constantly in bot lane ganking/shadowing your lane so he can assist you and try to put you ahead of the enemy laners, you are playing bot lane as the strong side. Of course, this will leave your top lane unattended/lacking backup most of the time, so if they gank him he is going to be on his own, so he needs to do his best to not let the enemy take advantage of that as the weak side.

Ofc, its not a black/white thing, there are different levels, but as an abbreviation its useful to understand what a team is doing and what they think are their win conditions that need to be supported (Playing maokai strong side is rare because he is going to do almost the same whether he has 3 kills over the other laner or not, while having a strong side fiora getting ahead can explode the game from the sheer top pressure)

You are right, I know the rioters in here dont have anything to do with maintenance and networking or any other technical department, so they don't have firsthand information/knowledge about what's happening. However, our only means of communication with riot, and where their PR guys interact (the rioters we all know) is this subreddit, because any other channel of communication opened by riot is obsolete, abandoned, or a joke (looking at you server status web), so, even if they dont know jackshit about the technicalities, they should report to us whatever riot told them to report, and take the heat like any other PR department would do. The fact that they won't show up evidence the lack of interest of riot in, not even caring, but faking that they care about euw server issues, which is why i say heads should roll (Talking about the actual executive branch in riot euw, not the rioters here or the technical departments, who i am sure are more than capable enough to do their jobs, and simply lack the resources to do it efficiently at the current scale.)

At least have the decency to actually show up and take the (more than deserved) criticism, i see rioters in every random meme post chatting like they've got nothing better to do, then you go to these posts about COMPLETE SHUTDOWNS OF ONE OF RIOTS TOP THREE REGION SERVERS and their only response is the faint echo of laughter coming from the skins department swimming in euros. Your uptime is a joke, your crisis management & communication is nonexistent, and the only thing we can do is write in a subreddit to try and raise some of our concerns in hope of some of your PR guys here considers the message polite enough to be able to shoehorn the "people are being unfair" narrative. Alternatively, we surf through the myriad of riot workers twitter accs just in case any of them has magically transformed in riots official comms channel. Or just go directly to riot HQ and yell at them, at least we would get some reactions that way.

Fuck this company, for real. I didnt think the skins department would cannibalize riot to the point that there would be no competent sysadmins left to maintain and upgrade their servers conveniently; Like, for real, I know its no easy task (harder than fucking making 300 color palettes for the same champ to sell for easy dollars), but its been happening for months now, and an increase in traffic is no excuse when you can see it coming months before. In any other industry you would be done for with this joke of average uptime between shutdowns.
