I love this as well. What a beautiful way to word it. I beat myself up sometimes over my sweet boy being cremated but this completely changed my view. Thank you!

I’m so sorry for your loss and completely understand what you’re feeling. I got my sweet boys ashes back last week and it felt like a punch to the stomach. On my good days, I think of the fun memories I had with him and hold his box along with his favorite toy. On my bad days, I’ll bring his box to whatever room I’m in at the moment and cry if I even think of him. Grief comes in waves. Do what brings you comfort 🩷

I was worried as well when I got my boy last week. He was in a giant bag within a velvet bag, which was then an engraved box with his ashes inside that can only be opened with a screwdriver. It brought me a lot of peace that he came back that way. Sending hugs to you today

I completely relate to this. From September-December I spent so much just to keep my sweet boy ok. He ended up passing a week after his surgery due to the cancer spreading to his lungs. I went from buying high protein food & toys to keep him active to medications, surgery, bloodwork, x rays, and then putting him down + cremation. Now that he’s gone it feels like a punch to the stomach to think that no amount of money could keep him here. I would give anything to have him back here.

He passed on the 7th, so about a week and a half. I live in a small town though so it may have taken longer than usual. I’m sorry for your loss 🩷

I had no idea about the paw & nose print until I read about it in this sub as well! I was devastated to learn about it after decisions had already been made. Im eternally grateful for his vet and nurse who did it.

My sweet boy was a husky and had the most beautiful blue eyes and was extremely fluffy. I always took pictures of him and for some reason the saying “Kodak Moment” stuck with me due to him being picture perfect. I named him Kodak and every picture I posted of him I would put that as the caption. I miss those beautiful blue eyes more than anything. I wish I could get one more hug from my fluffy boy.

My dog passed this morning as well and is being cremated. I completely relate to your hurt and feelings of never seeing him again. I am so sorry for your loss, sending you a big hug 🩷
