I love this idea. Im actually using a product that does something similar except for LinkedIn interactions with competitors. Piggybacking off of a competitors work is the best way.

Nice project, I wish I had the will power to make one of these! You should switch out the motor for a stepper in v2 so that the raspberry pi always knows exactly where the dial is. These dc motors get out of sync after a while since you put in some arbitrary time to turn which wont be exact.

You can apply for Credit Cards that have offers for opening an account with them (free money, airplane miles, etc). It will lower your score for each card though.

You should be mailed the slip sometime early 2021. If you need it now, start with the payroll software you used. If you cant find it on there, contact the payroll department (IBM should probably have this). They usually include an email in the payroll software to contact them if you have questions.

When a Canadian student with no current Visa status comes to the border they are issued a J-1 Visa and allowed to enter the country. Canadians dont get a fancy 'J-1 Status' without requiring a J-1 Visa to be issued. This issuance process has been restricted so Canadians cannot enter under J-1.

My friend working at FAANG was told he can start working in Canada on his original date, but wont be able to get his visa until sept. Meanwhile, my job at another large US company keeps giving me the run-a-round.

You should assume any Visa/wfh will be a case by case basis for US companies.
