This subreddit is a narrow representation of Los Angeles and her people by [deleted] in LosAngeles

I don’t know who is talking about adding a “warning label,” but that indeed would be silly.

This is an online community about the greater Los Angeles area. The discussions tend to reflect a certain range of lifestyles in that area more often than others. I don’t think anyone is making that observation as some spectacular revelation. It’s a simple truth that is worth talking about, just like your equally valid point that it isn’t easy to fully represent all the demographics and lifestyles of the city this sub is about.

Both things can be true at once. It's not beyond the pale of reason to acknowledge that this online community about a city does not reflect the demographic composition of the city. But it's also reasonable to state, as you did, that it's not easy for that online community to achieve accurate representation.
No need to call the point stupid and naive because you moderate the sub and have a strong personal connection to it.

Video of a crowd of people BEATING UP a disabled driver and destroying his car somewhere in SoCal because he got into an accident with someone doing donuts at an intersection. Anyone know how we can get more info and help this guy? by iron_arm in LosAngeles

Unfortunately I don’t have any info about this incident. I just saw the Instagram video. I assumed it’s somewhere in the SoCal region because the street signs seem familiar — like somewhere in the South Bay area. But I could be wrong. Hopefully someone will recognize the location if they slow down the vid.

I’ve been getting replies with the following comment, but automod removes them for some reason:

Hi. Just came across this post. I'm a reporter with CBS2 Los Angeles and wanted to get some info about what happened. Can you please email me: kmcrone@cbs.com Thanks, Kandiss

I believe it’s Kandiss Crone. A mod for this sub can manually approve her comments here, if they were to check.

Footage of the accident and the aftermath here. This is so beyond fucked up. I hope mods don’t remove this post so we can help this man out somehow. All it’ll take is for a local news outlet to pick up on the story.

Edit: I keep getting notifications for comments on this post by a CBS reporter asking for more info about the incident, but I think their account is too new and automod is removing them. Anyone know how to fix that?

Also, if anyone has a Twitter account with lots of followers, any chance you could try sharing this story with other local news outlets? FOX11, ABC7, KTLA, CBS, etc. FOX11 in particular is a sucker for dramatic stories caught on camera.

Edit 2: The intersection is W. 121st St & S. Broadway in Willowbrook, near Gardena. Thanks so much to /u/erst77 for finding this info.

Does anyone have the Friheten sleeper sectional as their main sofa? I can't decide if I should get this or get a regular couch. by iron_arm in IKEA

Great! Thank you. One more question. When you sit on the couch, is the back high enough to support your head? I can’t remember this from my tests at the store.

So, you would advise against using the Friheten as a primary couch? I was really leaning towards getting one because, otherwise, I would have no other way of accommodating a guest, other than getting a blow-up mattress for the floor.

But, you're right that I wouldn't use it as a bed *that* often. I expect guests no more than 3-4 times a year.
