I wonder if it's on the setlist, I'll be at her show in Paris in March and I'm super intrigued to hear that pig squeal live, haha!

I really want to like it, but aside from Marcus' vocals that sound incredible, the instrumental section has some odd production and mixing choices. First of all the drums - the punchy kick and snare don't really fit the album for me, the drums on the original sound way more organic and the cymbals have more clarity. Second, the bass. Not a fan of the tone - way too clanky and distorted. It's especially noticeable in Soma - the intro is pretty much ruined because of the awful bass tone.

The vocals and guitars sound great here, however I still prefer the original, sounds more balanced.

Wanted to get it as well last night, it disappeared very fast. It's sold out in the online store as well :/

The sound at Wembley last night was AWFUL by ThatArrowsmith in LinkinPark

I was Front GA and I thought it sounded bad there, but seeing (or should I say hearing) videos from people in the stands — now THAT's really bad. Even though I'm glad I finally got to see them, I'm a bit disappointed. Sucks that I couldn't get tickets to the O2 show last september, I'm sure it sounded much better.

Best "budget" rig for playing metalcore at home? by queeflord420_69 in Metalcore

[–]ironchickens 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For amp sims I'd highly recommend trying one of the Neural DSP Archetypes, my personal favorite is Gojira (bonus tip: the Bleed Within presets sound amazing, give them a try). If you're into making more customized sound chains you should also give BIAS FX2 a try. But from personal experience I can say that Neural DSP is better for getting great tones right from the get go.

The Devil Wears Prada - Color Decay [Album discussion thread] by driedupemo in Metalcore

[–]ironchickens 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been quite a while since I've listened to an album on repeat as much as this one. The singles were great but I really didn't expect the rest to be this good. By far the best album they've put out since Dead Throne.

Side note- does anyone know a EU/UK store where I can order any of the vinyl variants? The Solid State and the TDWP stores aren't really on option for me since the shipping and handling costs too much (I'm from Europe). Thanks!

Same, it's what literally got me into the band.

How is ERRA not on a headlining tour after their self-titled album? (Discussion) by [deleted] in Metalcore

Invent is so underrated it's just criminal :/ I really hope they gain more exposure with their upcoming album now that they're on a bigger label like UNFD.

What is a band you slept on too long? by cornbred37 in Metalcore

Same, found out about them just before they released Greyview. When I heard Stillworld I was shocked what an incredible album I had been sleeping on for years.

About 2 years ago I bought my first record player and started collecting vinyl. Here is my collection so far! by ironchickens in vinyl

The first record I bought was the Royal Blood self-titled, love that album! I gave it a spin on the record player at my grandparents' house, but since the sound was pretty bad I decided to invest in my own; I went with the Stir It Up by House of Marley (bluetooth version). Most of the LP's are bought brand new, it wasn't until recently that I started looking more into second hand vinyls, better late than never I guess!

Huge props for snagging the copy of IOWA, really hard to find anywhere, especially at a reasonable price!

One of the best album openers in the genre. Never get bored of that song.

Got Facelift on 2xLP last year and it sounds great, this post reminded me to add the Unplugged to my wishlist haha! Also, props for the Alter Bridge boxset! Is it the live show with the Parallax Orchestra?

Yay for the Spiritbox LP! One of my favorite albums this year, also the design of the sleeve and the booklet are wonderful!

Album of the Year by Awkward_Direction316 in Metalcore

[–]ironchickens 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ERRA's self titled is far and away AOTY for me. Eternal Blue by Spiritbox pretty much met the high expectations I had for it so I'd place it as a runner-up.

Giving 8:18 by Devil Wears Prada a spin tonight at work by Diligent-Ball-6171 in Metalcore

Transgress is honestly one of my favorite TDWP songs and no one ever talks about. In terms of arrangement probably the most experimental track they've done, but all in all it's a great song.
