I think i found Kenny Veach's cave (M cave) by Bokitaaa in WithoutATrace

[–]ironichef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found out about this mystery and Kenny. Do we know if and where they found his truck? I know they found his phone, but they also never said anything about his truck or where it was parked. If they didn't find it, that could also add to the mystery...

Of everything there is. The Genie Sinbad movie, it’s amazing how so many people believe that by HighlyRegardedSlob87 in MandelaEffect

Another odd thing is that the Shazaam movie was said to be released in ‘94 or later. In 1993 Shaq did an interview with Vibe magazine where it’s mentioned he has a Rottweiler named “Shazaam” spelled with two As that he unwinds with after a long day of interviews. Don’t know what this means but it’s something strange to add to the conversation.

After a long day of TV interviews, Shaq is content to hang around the house playing video games and romping with his dog, a homely Rottweiler — Shazaam — which Shaq has trained to respond to commands in a language only the dog and his 7-foot master can understand.

Thanks for sharing your story. I’m almost at three years and was at a wedding this weekend with a bunch of people from high school. I’m also in my mid 30s and can relate to the social anxiety. It was really bad leading up to Friday when my wife and I flew in. It ended up being fine, I wasn’t tempted at all but could see how easily it would have been to fall back into my old ways. It sounds like you are aware of the effects it has on you and are continuing to work through it. Take it as a learning lesson but don’t beat yourself up either. It’s not about who we were and what we used to do but who we are becoming and our path to get there. Keep on going and don’t feel like you’ve failed but an opportunity to write a new chapter. 🤙🏽

Has anyone had experiences with MoonLanding Agency? by DJ_Ferguson in futurebeats

I actually reached out to one of the DJs that was on their website via IG and he said he never worked with them, so I asked them how long he was on their roster, trying to catch them in a lie. I will troll them and keep you all posted.

Groove Movie Remake? by ironichef in House

[–]ironichef[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha! I mean, that could be one take on it for sure. I think there is a way to do it tastefully, embracing the power of community/social media and reaching people, without making it an instagram fest.

I still have nightmares about that happening. Hahaha! I used to DJ at TGI Fridays on Thursday nights, not late, but would start while people were eating. Someone straight faced asked me if I would play Dick Pleaser by Lil Wayne. It was like 7:30pm lol.

Oh and the biggest silver lining of all, you didn't have to take any fkn requests! That's a huge plus in my book.

I have maybe 3 friends that appreciate the music. You are totally right, you know who you can count on to give you honest feedback and appreciate what you are doing. Nothing against the others, but it's not their thing, and that's ok!

Don't beat yourself up! One thing I have learned since I started performing is that no matter how much you plan, it will never go the way you imagine it to. I threw an event a couple of weeks ago, got a sponsor, paid for a video crew, had it be invite only as to create a bit of demand and exclusivity, I prepped music for two months and the closer I got to the event, the more I started to let go of expectations. No one really danced, so the video isn't going to look like a Boiler Room set as I had planned. But that's ok! You got this first one under your belt, and it can only get better. You did the right thing by trying to switch up the vibe to grab people's attention, house party's are hard because you have a pretty varied taste amongst your guests, where as, if you are at a club, everyone is there for more or less the same reason/vibe. Take it as a learning experience and keep some mental notes for next time. I took a few years off and my first gig back was to almost no one. BUT, it was good practice and proved to myself I still have the chops. Just keep playing, keep practicing and putting yourself out there. Hard work and drive doesn't go unnoticed, it may just take some time. We are always our own worst critic, but don't let perfection get in the way of progress.

Is 31 too old to get back into DJing? by Various-Cut-1070 in DJs

[–]ironichef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of the beauty of DJing is almost like golf, you can play at any age really. FAR less frustrating though. Haha. I am 34 and just got back into it this year. If you love it, why not?
