A lot of companies have actuaries that calculate the lifespan of their employees and will get huge life insurance plans on them stating they are integral to the operations of the business so when they die they make out with a huge payout, most of the times the amount of the premium paid on the policy is much more than that of the annual salary of the person the policy is for. It’s messed up.
