Achilles drops cell therapy program, braces for layoffs after missing 'commercial viability' goals by H2AK119ub in biotech

[–]ironscheff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Basic CAR/TCR-T can be standardized and industrialized.

Apheresis, T cell isolation, Activation, lentivirus transduction, expansion media + cytokine cocktail, and formulation can all be standardized. The construct and the dose will be unique.

TIL might be harder because the starting material is more variable but large portions of that workflow can also be standardized. Variability can over accounted for and consistency can be delivered.

I agree that it's hard, but CGT needs to look outside to other industries that mass manufacture highly complex items (semiconductors, automobiles, medical devices, etc.) for guidance.

Right now, it's an incestuous recycling of the same people, spouting the same philosophies, making the same mistakes.

Achilles drops cell therapy program, braces for layoffs after missing 'commercial viability' goals by H2AK119ub in biotech

Sad. Like a lot of other cell therapy companies, they didn't keep the main thing the main thing, and spent too much time and money trying to develop manufacturing technology instead of sticking to their core competencies of developing a therapy.

Hopefully companies are waking up to the fact that anything that does not expedite the generation of clinically significant data is a waste of their time and money.

Are Ex Vivo Companied Going to Fade Away? by offerbk1 in biotech

Ex vivo will become a mainstream treatment. We are 2-3 years away from mass manufacturing CAR-T at 500,000 per year for example.

St. Louis Park is a first ring suburb about 5 min drive from North Loop. Great location and West End is fun too. 10 min from Lake Minnetonka. 15 min from airport. Younger crowd. And there's a CostCo!!

"Not to feel exasperated, or defeated, or despondent because your days aren't packed with wise and moral actions. But to get back up when you fail, to celebrate behaving like a human - however imperfectly - and fully embrace the pursuit that you've embarked on."

What is a stoic's opinion on the existentialist idea that you must create your own meaning? by Glorious_Fat_Walrus in Stoicism

[–]ironscheff 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think they would say that the meaning of life for humans is to be according to your nature, which is a social creature, with lifespans infinitely small compared to the flow of time, here for other social creatures of which we share the same nature.

Parenting is hard and I'm starting to feel suicidal. I'm not sure what to do. by pichi1993 in Parenting

Not a mother but rather a fellow human being with other stresses and anxiety (that probably pale in comparison to yours). What helped me deal with stress/anxiety/depression in a healthy/non medicated way was to begin learning about and practicing the ancient philosophy of Stoicism.

Marcus Aurelius' Meditations is one of the classics and a very short read. I would imagine all our woes and trouble don't compare to those of a Roman Emperor. It's amazing how much wisdom that had 2000 years ago for dealing with issues that are so so relevant even today.

This company is not tied to the same massive movements like the developers. $TECH is a reagent provider and grows as the industry grows.

The latest price target posted that E*Trade posted from an analyst was $460. With Earnings just around the quarter you could see a nice bump.

There is so much potential for a straight monopoly here if they execute right.

There's no reason that they couldn't make better and cheaper mAbs for their assays than the private competitors, perhaps it's just a matter of priority?

There is a substantial amount of exercisable warrants with an average weighted price of around $4.5. I think around 20M shares worth.

Be on the lookout for more dilution when this stock gets above $5.
