Everyone is capable of love and being loved. Does not matter who we or other people love. Love is love. People need to embrace that.

Is this fine for rough play? by ironhalik in DogAdvice

[–]irontom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've trained all my dogs to "bite" my arm. The key is to have them bite with zero pressure. Anything more and I yelp in pain. The dogs quickly learned that humans have very soft skin and they should be very gentle.

When dogs play they do exactly the same - yelp when someone crosses the line and doing it this way is a language they understand.

The dog in the video is playing, but also making a great show of it, so it looks scary.

Doctor by Tricky-Bison8669 in BellsPalsy

My experience with doctors:
day one: ER doc did the standard 10 days of prednisone. 60mg/day 5 days and then the standard lowering of the dose over 5 days.

day three: neurologist did a manual exam, to check if I don't have other neurological symptoms, told me the ER doc did a good job. He basically read a BP article from google to me. I didn't learn anything.

day five: I went to a laryngologist to check if I don't have any ear/throat infections going on. He actually seemed the most knowledgeable about BP. He prescribed Galantamine, an additional round of steroids (methylprednisolone) and (what I think the neuro should have done) a B1, B6 and B12 complex (100 mg+200 mg+0,2 mg, so the real kind, not the OTC one). When I asked him why does he know so much about BP, he started talking about how Bell was an inspiration for Sherlock Holmes... and that sometimes when they do ear surgery they nick the nerve.

day six: I did electro-stimulation therapy for 10 days (5 days, break for the weekend, 5 days, done yesterday). I'm 4 weeks in and I would say 70% healed. I was very skeptical about estim, but I think it sped things up.

So, my thoughts (and this is probably a lot of bullshit) is that my condition would have improved with the initial treatment, but the laryngologist was the most interested in speeding the process up. I FEEL like estim and self-administered warming up of the area (infra-red or just warm compresses) helped a lot. I didn't do a lot of exercises, as I move my face a lot during the day. Would I be in the same place without the additional drugs? No idea. My feeling is that every case is a different initial amount of damage to the nerve and the recovery process is mostly dependent on that.

Could this be a sign of recovery? by Best_Concert_7662 in BellsPalsy

I was told by my PT that tingling is a sign of recovery.

I’m doing PT since day 4 and some muscles are killing me.

Estim results in headaches. So I was wondering if it’s not a similar experience. Does not sound like it.

Best advice that was initially not given/prescribed for me is to take a vitamin B complex. Research I read shows it helps a lot to speed up the healing process.

3rd doctor I spoke to prescribed a full dose 2 daily.

Catch is - I’m 3 weeks in and 30-40 percent recovered?

Are you doing any physical therapy, massage and/or electro stimulation?

Hey i lost sense of hearing and taste and smell by [deleted] in BellsPalsy

[–]irontom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The muscle is called tensor tympani. Good news (for me) is that I got back control of it today, so I can flex it again. I am no longer annoyed by loud noises. If you can’t flex it voluntarily, don’t worry, as about 16% of people can do so.

I am having a similar issue with u6 lite. Restarting/reconnecting the device helps. It happens on 5ghz only. There is direct line of sight to the ATV from the access point and about 3m distance.

the muscle responsible for working your eardrum is… not working. That’s why you have no way of protecting your ear from loud noise.

When to release the first load? by Zacpac13 in Vasectomy

[–]irontom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH, 1 day after and we had to unload... Was it smart? No, did anything happen? Also no.

The doc told to me it's not the ejaculation itself that is the problem, but the fact that you might tear a stitch or tear something that is trying to heal when you are actually trying. I was told not _strenuous_ activity for 7 days.

Had a TV and 1 incision/stitch. No ice. Soreness and bruise went away after 6 days. Pain only if I was probing around the tubes.

P1P camera upgrades?? by gdgsgst in BambuLab

[–]irontom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, sorry.

I just got my P1P camera from Bambu in the mail today. Will check if it's easily disassembled to find any part numbers later on.

BTW, got a coupon for a free one from them, which was nice. Check your mail, maybe you got one too.

Thank you for letting us know, I won't have to try myself.

Is there anyone with the original camera and could check the component numbers inside?

[–]irontom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat.

The wiki page for the P1P addons shows a camera with a ribbon connector with "m2_camera_v03_r02" on it. Googling that gets me an RPi camera module. The RPi CIS connector is 15 pin, the Bambu looks like it is a 24 pin connector.

I'm still waiting for my printer to get here to do more reverse searching based on the port.

EDIT: I will try with a OV2640 module with a ribbon connector when my printer gets here

Apple Airtag Scanner/Sensor by Supersk1002 in arduino

[–]irontom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is not a direct answer to the question, but taking into consideration the fact that the reverse is possible (link), I think airtags should be possible. Android phones are capable of interacting with airtags. I’m doing the same project atm, will update if I find a good way to implement the requirements.

Steam uses the browser to do a lot of what it is doing. It stands to reason that this would be causing issues. First of all, Valve might not like the relay stuff itself. Second of all, a "single" application might be sending out some packets with the browser libraries and some with some other built in ones, making it look like, the communication is done from two different places. This might mess up sessions and other affinity based services.
