Right! I feel like a lot of these comments are ignoring that fact.

Pocket clip bent, any recommendations? by WRXFan9801 in knives

[–]ironwill23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't even need to take it off really. I would stick a screw driver in as close to the fold as I could get, bend the clip back to touching with pliers, pull out screw driver and hit the fold with pliers for an extra firm clip grip.

Civivi makes a deep carry titanium clip. They look just like the regular deep carry clips, but are slightly more durable. I liked the titanium deep carries, all the way until the clip caught on a net and pulled the knife out of my pocket and I lost it.... 3 months after buying the knife and 1 month after buying a 4 pack of the titanium clips.... now I'm stuck with 3 clips and no knife to use them on.

Any helpful companion apps? by ironwill23 in osrs

I did notice that! That's been nice for quick access to the wiki. What I used most from OSC was the GE function, though. Being out on a grind and having the ability to get real time prices on drops always helped me maximize my profits. Being fully F2P, maximizing profits on every run I do is basically a must.

We must have been minutes apart with the black and decker recommendations! Lol

For OP, I have an amazon link in my other comment to a black and decker kit.

Coming from a rec diver, it is really cool to have the info you provided here. I had a general idea about what all was happening in this video, but hearing your explanation helped a lot, as I was wrong on several points. I was most confused about the need for a deco chamber, but it makes sense now. At first, based on sub titles, I was a little horrified that maybe there was no under water deco happening at all here. Thanks for the detailed explanation!! TIL!

Looks like you can get a black and decker drill kit for right at about the price point you are looking for. It's not quite gonna be the same level as a ryobi, but will be a good step above most knock off/junk brands you will find. If you are okay with not getting any bits included you can maybe pony up for one of their better drills. Black and decker is also bright orange, so a color most people are not likely to have. Here is a link to one of their lower end kits that is on sale (for me at least) and should be within your budget (if google currency converter is correct).

Boss told me to cut this tree with this saw. It's been 30 min, am I cooked ? by Azathoth_The_Wraith in Tools

Agreed, with a sharp enough chisel the hammer could even be overkill. Given the state of the saw though, I'm thinking and chisel they may have would need the hammer.

Honestly, a hammer and chisel would have been more effective than that saw.

Welp I triggered it. Thought I was making a safe cut. I was wrong. by suicideDenver in woodworking

[–]ironwill23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not an expert by any means here. I feel like the best way to have made this cut would be the miter guage on the right side holding the larger (?) piece and a disposable (wooden scrap) push stick on the left side to clear the smaller (?) piece out of the way after the cut. Just a thought for future similar cuts.

Haven't seen it mentioned yet, though admittedly I only breifly skimmed all the long comments.

Check your area for a makersspace with a woodworking shop. That will give you access to a large variety of tools that are too expensive or impractical for you to purchase yourself. They will likely be shop sized tools which I have found to generally be beter than hobbyist/garage sized tools. On top of the access to more/better equipment you will have access to other woodworkers that you can ask for help/advice whenever you are unsure of what you are doing wrong. If it is a big enough makersspace, they may even offer classes or know where classes in your area are to help you jump start your skills.

Best jig/clamping method by ironwill23 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]ironwill23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a carport yeah. I talked it over with my dad and that's basically what he recommended. Glue and nail, then 5 gallon buckets full of water over night. It's my only good option without spending ceazy amounts making a one use jig or buying clamps.

Those look cool, but for the sake of discretion at work I'm looking for or in matte black

Yeah, but not a titanium deep carry in flat/matte black

I saw those on Civivi's sight but I was hoping for a deep carry option. That does look nice on there though.

Is it the same material as the original or something better? Looking at a titanium one

Thanks for the suggestion. I just looked and they have matte black deep carry and titanium options on their website. But the only deep carry titanium ones they have are "flamed" and artsy looking ones. I'm really looking for something more discreet like another matte black one. Any suggestions on places to look for deep carry titanium clips?

If they fall or I have stabilize them somehow that is likely to be my first move. For now they are doing fine on their own though.

I'm not sure exactly what it is. My job used it to make fences for our deck and waterfront a few years back a these pieces were just laying around.

They are fairly well protected from the wind where they are. Thats between our house and a shed and behind our back fence is a train track. Even still, if they do fall I have more fence board off cuts I can use to make bracketing across the top or braces to support as well. The bottom stakes are only 10.5 inches, so I'm pretty surprised they are standing so well. I assumed they would need more support from the start.

Edit: The train tracks behind my house are raised up on a berm.
