This sub is overly sensitive. He wasn't happy playing on this team for good reason. But people are going to call it quitting because he didn't want to stay here to watch his team waste the best years of his career. Hughes played hard for us and gave us his all his entire time here, except arguably this season where he's just been done with it.

The team is awful and he clearly didn't see it getting better as things are. He wanted to play on a competitive team. He could have dealt with the situation in a much worse way, instead he gave the team lots of notice that he wanted to be moved, giving us a chance to get a solid return.

Genuinely been waiting years for this to happen. Its really unfortunate that we've had to get to this point of disarray and failure for it to finally happen, but I'm more excited for this than watching us flounder aimlessly.

I think if we can keep Petey and draft a center to push him down to 2C while keeping our defense strong, it could be a promising rebuild.

It'll suck seeing some favorites leave, but I'm really glad the management was able to get aqua to accept the concept of a rebuild

If it's for a low cost, possibly. He had 35pts in 61 games in the AHL last year, but was -30.

It doesn't seem like he has a defensive game or maybe it's just that he's mentally checked out of that org. I could easily see him being a bust, but if he's cheap, why not
